LHR-MIA in First [is First worth the extra cost?]
I know this is purely individual, but looking at flights for next Jan/Feb, LHR-MIA, one way fares for Business are coming out at £1,400 for this leg, but also £1,800 for First.
those of you who are regular users of BA, is First worth the extea £400 PP?
many thanks in advance

To be yes 100% at that cost even more so if the alternate was CS vs CW as I hate CS with a passion. I just arrive more relaxed and rested in F or pissed and £400 isn't much in the overall scheme of things.

Whilst the A380 F is getting rather grubby / worn and the IFE is pretty ropey, it's still a comfy way to travel and the feeling of space and privacy is decent. I'd take that for £400 for sure.
Is it worth it ? No one can give a precise answer on that point
Edit to add, I've just checked and see there's also 781 flying. I'd definitely take that over the other.

It really depends from a lot of factors, starting with how much the + £400 PP impact your budget, if it's a very special trip and you've never flown F before, if you need the TPs, what plane is used...

Yes - unless £400 is a big deal to you or affects your actual holiday / trip on arrival in a big way
You get First Wing access, which is a nice way through security (and you won't get otherwise you are BA Gold or OneWorld Emerald); you get to use the Concorde Room which is a very big step up over the "standard" Club lounges; on the A380, business class is still the "old" Club World seats - First is a big step up over this. And Miami is a long enough flight to enjoy the extra space and the better food and drink in First.
For £400 on a Miami route I'd say definitely First. First on BA is not the world's best, and the A380 is a bit tired in the First cabin, but if you don't set your sights sky-high, then I still think First will be well worth the extra £400

Can’t comment on MIA but went in F to DFW on the A380 a few weeks ago and for a daytime flight on a A380 it was worth it. Back when I booked (Oct 23) there was a similarly low difference in cost. Flight, cabin service and food all good, so for me definitely worth it. YMMV.

CCR on the way out, MIA FFD on the way back, A380 F seats instead of old CW (you may even have to pay to select seats depending on your status, you won’t in F), or the newest F seat in the 781. It’s a no-brainer for me.
An airport upgrade would cost generally £1K per person each way for MIA.

I would still say YES (like others) too. Totally worth it.

I had my worst experience of flying F with BA last year. I swore I’d never pay for that again. However, on my return flight on the 380 the crew were spectacular. I believe it’s the crew who make a good flight, even if there are deficiencies in the aircraft itself. A good crew can muster customer loyalty, a particular aircraft can’t.
