It was £48 for the longest time

The Distillers Edition was great, probably my favourite whisky ever, although I felt it was getting worse with each release for a while. £100 now.

I am not a big fan of judging Whisky quality by price but inevitably it will be a major consideration for BA in their lounges and on board.
(and I am always a big fan of some data! )
I realise that they will get significant bulk discounts etc.
Typical RRP at the moment:
Blends
JW red (most lounges) £24
JW black (most lounges) £27
JW Blue (CCR and on board F) £150
Copper Dog (EDI, GLA, ABZ) £35
Non-aged single malt
Talisker Surge (most lounges) £80
Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold (EDI, GLA, ABZ) £43
Aged Single Malt
Lagavulin 16 (EDI, GLA, ABZ) £68
Dalwhinnie 15 (on board F) £44
Caol Ila 15 Cask Strength (on board F and CCR) £93

All alcoholic drinks are essentially alcohol plus water plus flavour. Flavour is a very complex field, but most experts agree that a very large proportion of it is all in the mind. There is no-one who will enjoy a £1000 bottle of Scotch more than a £100 bottle of Scotch if they are in the wrong company or in the wrong mood, never mind using the wrong additives.
[EDIT]
In case it sounds like I am being snide and in support of the Single Malt Mafia, I'm not. The American Bar at the Savoy in London is famous for its cocktails based on expensive whiskys. I have to say I much prefer those to drinking it on its own.
I think with a little coaxing we might be able to do better than the BA offerings above without resorting to JWB and coke.

The ABZ offering earlier this week. I just don’t ‘get’ the Talisker Surge but reduced the level of the Lagavulin 16 nicely.
