How far in advance can I drop bags off?

How far in advance can I drop bags off?
4 Adults flying Club with many suitcases (either 10, 11 or 12). The gold luggage allowance for all pax on 1 booking is very handy, as we're going away for a few weeks and it includes a (big fat indian) wedding.
Flight is at 1830 from T5 LHR to DEL.
As I live near, I had the idea to drive to T5 with 1 fellow pax, drop off 6 bags around midday, and the remainder of luggage will either go in a taxi with the 4 pax or 2 will take the train.
My question is, would I be allowed to drop some bags off 6.5 hrs in advance?

Yes. If you have sufficient passengers at the airport for the number of bags you want to drop off then you should be able to drop them as early as you like.
