So you might as well do it sooner rather than later.
I think this is a sensible plan. Plus sticking the bulkhead or a front screen in the Gatwick A320s.
There are more Pinnacle seats fitted across the Neo fleet than would needed to do all 10 ex-BMI A319s plus any of the non-Standard A320 CEO’s that aren’t being scrapped.

Given the Recaro slimline seats have been widely used I would guess they will retain some value to be sold too.
Regarding the fitting of the new seats to the A320/21neos, I totally agree! I wonder if the Recaros would have a use at Vueling?

A320 G-MEDK has arrived at Gatwick. I suppose the change over to BA Euroflyer will take a couple of days. This is aircraft 22 for BA Euroflyer.

So now seat number lottery begins on the Gatwick a320s.

MEDK has seats 1DF. On the rest of the Gatwick a320 fleet those seats are missing, which makes 2DF the best seats on the current Gatwick a320s. Also 1AC isn’t in the galley on MEDK.

The exit row seats on MEDK are rows 11 and 12. On the rest of the Gatwick a320 fleet they are rows 12 and 13.

All easy enough to spot when booking, but subsequent aircraft changes make for a bit of a problem.

I suspect that for most people this will not be a pressing issue!

It is most pressing for Gold card holders in Club though who can choose these seats on booking.

I was also hit with a very tedious downgrade because of there no longer being 1DF seats. An extra 45 mins at check-in, and five months to get a refund being the most annoying parts.

I see that G-STBA (77H I think?) is off shortly to Abu Dhabi as BA9180 --> https://www.flightradar24.com/BAW9180/346928d6

Maintenance/Paint/other?

Also not ideal if you're supposed to be on a full MEDK and end up on a GAT if you're passenger 178/179 or 180!

G-EUUB just took off from LHR rnwy 27R to SNN to which i can only assume is a paint job, as BAW9260.
G-VIIO took off behind it as BAW9172 to position itself back to LGW,

Does anyone know the reason why some of these LGW fleet come to LHR for a couple of hours then head back?

A further slip in this current schedule was down to slower ramp of the build rate. G-ZBLH is just rolling out in the next few days so it’s not even on the flight line yet. So early April is more likely. 1 month to 2 month delay is now normal across the industry in both Boeing and Airbus so whilst yes, Boeing has quality issues. For the most part airlines continue to take the majority of their 787s on time with significantly less quality issues than prior to the delivery halt

For maintenance since the ridiculous decision made by a former engineering director to close the Gatwick hangar! With BA Mainline and BA Euroflyer having a growing based fleet it now seems a short sighted decision. Previously maintenance could be carried out on site without impacting the schedules too much.
if Euroflyer does get to 30 or so aircraft and BA long haul does expand they will surely have to think again. There are engineers based at Gatwick but I believe they have no hangar space as such.

Wiki Updated:
  • G-STBA has joined G-VIIF in Abu Dhabi for maintenance work
  • G-GATN is in Budapest for some work alongside G-TTOB
  • G-VIIG is in Manila alongside 2 x A380's for some maintenance
  • G-EUUB appears to just be doing circuits at SNN
  • G-ZBLC is still in the LHR sickbay since limping back from DXB last week
  • G-XLEJ and G-XLEK also in the LHR sickbay resulting in just 8 active A380's at LHR at the moment - hence issues across the A380 timetable
  • G-LCAC was due back from Exeter on Sunday (17th) but that was cancelled, so we'll keep an eye on updates
  • Two LHR B777's continue to serve LGW while the LGW fleet are serviced and repainted ahead of the summer schedule
  • 27 (out of 29) A319’s are now back in service at LHR. The remaining 2 stored aircraft are in Madrid (G-EUPJ and G-EUPL)
Please continue to post ad-hoc updates as noted so we can keep the Wiki current.
