Going off topic here but beginning to see possible advantages of CityFlyer and Euroflyer collaborating/ merging operations. Embraers could do W patterns on domestics and some business routes from London City and Gatwick or even point to point. (With aircraft based at both airports) a unified cabin crew fleet would have greater travel opportunities for some night stops too. Just thinking aloud and probably being daft! I know agreements may prevent this but times and circumstances change as well as new opportunities arising.

Just noticed G-TNEC landing at LHR, thought it looked clean and then saw it mentioned on here for delivery.

Anyway, consider it delivered to it's new home as of 11.18am today.

The Embraers presumably have a higher operating cost per seat - so will probably only operate on LCY routes where they can presumably earn more than on LGW routes.

I wonder how long it'll be till an order for the E190-E2 is made. I'm guessing about 5 years, the oldest is nearly15 years so there's still quite a bit of life left

I have an idea - backed by no data I can link to - and would be grateful for input from them who know: Embraer aircraft are seeing rising maintenance costs earlier in their hours/cycles lifetimes than 737s and A320(-derivatives) and we might expect to see replacements ordered earlier than for the A320 fleet?

I've seen crew comment that the parts/materials used in constructing them, while safe and adequate, are less long-lived than Boeing and Airbus.

Order backlog of around 180 ... currently producing / delivering around 20 a year
BA might want to hurry up and place an order sooner rather than later!

I wonder if BA are holding out for as long as possible to see what happens with LCY expansion plans. If successful then there should be scope for wider A220 ops.

I remember seeing in a different thread a few months ago saying that not all stands at LCY can fit the A220. So there would have to be some modifications made to all the stands if BA want to fly the A220 out of LCY.

Which is why i think they’ll most likely go for the E190E2

Hence possible holding out to see if LCY expansion plans pass.

It seems that this ferry flight came to a full stop at ATH as the subsequent leg to DOH was cancelled.

Anyone know why?

CityFlyer are to densify the E190s starting next year, 2 more rows going in for 8 more seats. RIP the vast legroom of 2CD I guess! Also seems to confirm once and for all that the scope agreement that limited non mainline pilots to fewer than 100 seat aircraft has gone in the bin.

Great...

Presumably this is also going to herald the introduction of BoB in economy. I guess it was too good to last.

The E2 is restricted to the same stands as the A220 as it has a greater wingspan then the previous generation.
