Clearly we are only party to the elements of the case mentioned in the report and there is a whole "something" missing.

However, as Boris Johnson is being reminded of regularly, ignorance of law breaking is not a defence in the UK. That would lead to a free for all. Clearly something happened and clearly the CPS felt they had a case. Did Richard Gere just waltz in and give the jury the old Razzle Dazzle?

A back / middle office ops director isn’t a banker in my book. You don’t tend to get many ops directors in front office anyway 😁😁

Sorry if this is getting too niche!

Well I sit on one of the low floors, if that clears anything up! But yes, somewhat OT, and just to be clear, I'm not expressing any solidarity here with the defendant in this case!

Same here with the wife minus the mask plus scotch. But never two!

Ambien is a scary drug. Some people handle it just fine. Others do crazy *** and don't remember any of it the next morning.

The occupation implies mum and dad spent a lot of money on attorney fees for him.

Whatever he does for a living and whomever his parents are, I hope BA ban him for life. He may have bamboozled the court but he assaulted the crew and got away with it. I don't believe his excuse for a minute. Maybe we need to ban all Ambien Users from flying.

His occupation does nothing of the sort.

A court of law has found that he did not assault the crew.

We don’t yet have formal trial by Internet forum in this country.

No. A court found him not guilty of the offences he was charged with, there is no doubt the crew were assaulted.

Indeed... and this fact will undoubtedly have an implication IMHO.

I was having a quick coffee break with the wife and we discussed this bit of news. Her comment was, more or less "Already it's impossible to get people prosecuted or banned for being perverts, now they walk when they assault us. We've already got little respect and little powers onboard, the only thing we have is a card and the threat of the police on arrival... if that's not even valid anymore then the next time it kicks off I'm going to think twice about stepping in".

If the offence he was charged with was assault, and he was found not guilty, can one not then reasonably say that he did not assault the victim(s)?

He may have physically struck the crew, but the jury decided it wasn’t assault?

As you can no doubt tell I’m not a lawyer, so apologies if I’m being slow, just trying to work out the logic.
