2 different planes listed for denver to LHR
I am trying to book a flight from DEN to LHR on april 16 2022,. For the record im booking using chase points, business class. There appears to be two different flights. One is BA flight 218 on a 777 plane. The other is Iberia operated by BA on the A-350 (flight 7406). They both take off and land at the same time (1930 denver time, land 1130 London time). I think its the same flight but they list different equipment so Im not sure. I would rather fly business on the A350 (unless IM wrong on that?) as its newer, but I dont want to go through Iberia. Can any of the pros here help me sort this out?
thanks!
thanks!

Expertflyer shows BA218 on April 16 as a 777 with old Club World seats, but Google flights shows the same BA218 as an A-350. Despite this, as others have said, there is only one flight – and at this distance in time it is probably foolish to expect the aircraft type not to change again before April 16.
Book the BA flight number and avoid codeshares.

Such changes take time to propagate through to codeshares, which often display out-of-date information for a while after the prime flight's listing has been changed. What you see would be consistent with IB's published information not yet having caught up. FWIW, I also see an American Airlines flight number (AA6969) and a Finnair flight number (AY5418) on the same flight, and both of those are still showing an A350 for that flight. I expect that all of these will catch up in due course. (So will Google, which is probably also out-of-date for the same reason.)
If you go to ExpertFlyer and look at the seat map for each of these flights, you will see that they all pull up the same 777 seat map, with the same occupied seats, if you need confirmation that you are looking at the same physical aircraft in each case.

Indeed Expertflyer shows a four class 777 operating a three class service. Of course, it's likely this will shuffle around in the next few weeks too. I wouldn't make a decision based on aircraft choice, you'll likely be disappointed

Where are you looking at these possible flights because while it is very obvious the Iberia is just a codeshare on a BA plane (they have tagged their code on the BA flight). The BA218 from Denver to Heathrow on April 16th 2022 leaves Denver at 4.30pm (local time) and lands at Heathrow at 8.30am the following morning (local time) and is currently scheduled to be operated by a B787 according to BA’s booking app. So in summary, there is only 1 direct flight a day operated by a Oneworld airline between Denver and Heathrow and that is by BA - so I’d suggest booking direct on their website.

I suspect that this is what has happened: BA has been publishing firmer plans for the northern summer 2022 season (starting on 27 March), and there have been quite a number of equipment changes. (As usual during "schedule change season", FT has exploded with "My aircraft has changed!" posts/complaints.)

That is correct.
There's a bit more now that tends to confirm what I was thinking. Since I posted earlier today, the Finnair listing has changed from a 350 to a 777, although the Iberia and American Airlines listings still say 350. I expect these two will also change to 777 soon.

I'm flying international for the first time in a while with a mom with a bad back and an infant on my lap. I was hoping to snag the most comfy seats I can! We are actually going to AMS, with transit in lhr. It has the most convenient times. I was thinking of having our layover in the US to get a better plane, but it sounds like that's a bad idea and will lead to disappointment.
