23 OCT 2021 (mini) DO update
Hello,
I just wanted to confirm that I'll be in Warsaw (unless something drastically changes) and I'm happy for the (mini) DO to happen
According to current rules all UK travellers can enter Poland with a vaccination certificate - NHS app/printed certificate is accepted. Travellers who are not yet fully vaccinated are subject to 10 days quarantine on arrival. Exact wording from Timatic:
At the moment there are no restrictions in Poland, but number of daily cases has been rising steadily (crossed 1k a few days ago), so some restrictions may be put in place in a near future, but I wouldn't expect anything major.
Returning to the UK should be straightforward for fully vaccinated travellers - no pre-departure test required, just Day 2 test booked for the PLF.
Venue - I suggest we stick with Hala Koszyki - there's an awesome bar in the middle where anyone can get drink of their choice, plus there's a number of food options - from quick take away bites to a restaurant. Weather permitting we could stay outdoor, or secure some space indoor.
I'm happy to organise a trip to the Warsaw Uprising museum for those who would be interested in. Not sure how many people are keen to visit Warsaw now?
Please let me know via PM or by replying here if you're coming or not

Still coming. Currently Friday–Thursday as I also want to see friends there though I may shorten trip and perhaps see them during "official" do dates.
Would be interested in the museum – when are you thinking of doing that?

Thanks megaloman. I am still coming out on Friday and back on Sunday.
The Warsaw Uprising Museum sounds interesting so I would be ok for that.
This will be my first trip abroad since last September so apologies if I am hyper! I did claim my first trips abroad were Isle of Man last week and Jersey in two weeks time, but someone who shall remain nameless said they didn't count

I was thinking of something like this for Saturday 23/10:
12:00 Uprising Museum tour
16:00 Visit to the top of the Palace of Culture and Science - panoramic views of Warsaw
18:00 Hala Koszyki
Entry to the Uprising Museum is 25 PLN (£5), guide is extra 150 PLN (£30) per group - I'll contact them to ask if they could have an English speaking guide available for us on Saturday.
Viewing terrace at PKiN - 20 PLN (£4) or £15 PLN (£3) if we get a group of 10+, but we'll have to check on a day, since they operate a limited lift service due to maintenance works, so they say waiting times might be extended.
For Sunday I'd recommend a free walking tour around old town, this can be either 10:30 am or 2:00 pm, lasts around 2h30 and is free for individuals to join, or paid €8 per person for group of 8 or more.
I've created a Google Form to collect answers from people interested in activities, please fill it in!

if anyone is interested, Robert Lewandowski's restaurant/sports bar, "Nines" is due to open in Warsaw on Monday October 5th. It is a part of the "Warsaw Brewery" (browarywarszawskie) located across the road from the Hilton.
It is unlikely he would be there when we are there, unless he picks up an injury.
