Is that the case? I understood there was no cross-checking by the e-passport gates to whether a PLF existed?

I'm 95% sure that that isn't the case.

Reasonably sure they don't. The border guard checking me on Sunday at T2 spent a few seconds zooming around my phone to find all the parts of the form he was interested in. He did not disinfect his fingers before doing so. Given that mobile phones are probably the dirtiest surface any of us are carrying....

Flew from T5 on Saturday morning, arriving at about 06.15. There were no large queues anywhere, we waited maybe one minute for a desk to be available in the F wing, although a small queue did then build up as there weren't many desks open and it seemed to be taking a while to process everyone (we had a ticketing issue which took a while, despite me calling the day before when one passenger couldn't do on-line check-in and being advised that there were absolutely no issues and it was properly ticketed). I can't imagine anyone was waiting more than 5 minutes though.

Arriving back at T5 Tues evening around 18.45 there was absolutely no queue at passport control and the whole place felt deserted. No-one asked to see a passenger locator form.

I am travelling back from T5 this saturday morning, been offered the £49 upgrade to CE for my flight back to NQY and just wondering what time the lounge opens in T5 as that realistically is the only reason I would likely go for the upgrade.

Thanks

Matt

Hi

Busy at t5 this morning with several rows of zig zags even club desks.

Queuing outside first wing also and along the wall to the glass barrier . Time 0930.queue was building slowly back towards the entrance to the terminal.
staff were escorting some people to the last checkin desk prior to the first wing ( close to checkin closing time)
was not asked to show veryfly or even my negative covid test although I was holding it in my hand just in case

Regards

tbs
passengers flying to the US being asked if they have a verifly app or to scan a qr code and fill in the form prior to reaching check in desks

So about 20mins to get to the desk check in itself about a couple of minutes and around 10 mins for security and repacking my rolling

GF is very busy but found a quiet spot in the old champagne bar.

Will have some food and try t5b later. The dxb flight @1225 has a current 30 min delay.

Have ordered kippers and scrambled egg and a bucks fizz and a highball as I had a good breakfast at the t4hilton
LPQ and crazyarmadillo like this.

Here is a picture* of my experience last weekend (20/11). Busy one at 09:15 in the morning but moving smoothly. Good job to the BA and LHR staff on duty helping and supporting. passengers. I had checked in the night before so just had a bag drop and got that completed within 15 mins and through the south security in 2 minutes.

*Instagram but it will show you the picture without needing an account. Just hit the cancel message if it does prompt you. Failing that try this https://greatfon.com/c/4088151331475801172

As a BAEC silver member, wouldn’t you have access to the lounge with a Y ticket?
