BA "First" Class

Pre-departure beverage. LOL.
After departure. My Gin and Tonic arrived as Gin and Light Tonic, poured in the galley.
Gin and real Tonic on the next one and the pre-warned cheap champagne, both opened and partially poured in the gallery, in clear violation of BA in flight service COVID protocols.
Showtime, BA First style. LOL.
My DIY version of the above using a few inexpensive, disposable items.

On the other hand, the DO&CO contents were actually quite good.
Chicken curry. Sorry for the bad pic.

And our back up, just in case BA forgot to cater today.

I think these photos should be sent to one of the UK newspapers- hopefully they will publish the photos of the food in the box and then the plated food so that BA’s nonsense can be exposed.

Thanks Jed. Our FA didn't have any problem when I asked her if she would toss the plates and cutlery into the trash cart. She even let me toss the Gordon Ramsay picnic basket into their trash.
Hold on, are you actually saying that you paid for a First Class seat and you boarded the plane and took your own plates on to serve the food onto? Can people just roll that concept around in their head and then think how truly atrocious this service is becoming when someone has to pay those fares and bring their own plates. Hopefully I have misunderstood.

Plus whilst the chocolate mousse is nice enough, it really is a Club Europe dessert rather than a F dessert. BA needs to bring back some soft product differentiation
(and I’m not saying they should reduce the offering in Club Europe- the offering in CW/F needs to improve considerably)

Major thumbs down here. Obviously St Lucia is a small place so suppliers will be limited but I’d be disappointed in economy with this. The FA I could sense was pretty embarrassed by it all, particularly breakfast and apologised for the presentation on two occasions.
The item on the right at breakfast in case you were wondering was a scrambled egg wrap, which actually looked like a damp sponge wrapped in recycled cardboard (tasted not far off that either).
Evening meal ‘starter and dessert’:
Duck pate wasn’t too bad and mini toasts, bread roll tasted old and cheesecake a bit rubbery but not horrific. Salad brownish in parts but for the most part okay... presentation pretty poor.
Main:
Risotto which did not taste good at all. Less said about that the better. Also presentation gawd knows. Pretty much erased from memory just enjoy the lie flat bed and dream of cutlery while being thankful I was travelling at all!
Miniature red wine and a coffee - take away the table cloth and TV and it’s a National Express bus:
Breakfast:
Thankfully nothing has really changed with the hard product, slept well - I wasn’t drinking on this flight other than the one Merlot so didn’t see much of the FAs and can’t comment but they seemed nice enough.
Again, thankful we can fly at all and this trip was on Avios but let’s just say I had to eat on the drive home from Gatwick!
Fruit actually wasn’t that bad, yoghurt was as good as an off the shelf 50p yoghurt can be, breads rock solid no good... and the egg thing I think I’d send back if I paid £1 for it at a Petrol station Subway.
I’m so glad I was prepared for that and this wasn’t my honeymoon final salvo taking up the £528 upgrade EACH from biz to First (was definitely some honeymooners who may have upgraded return leg as a treat to themselves, saw that POUG price as I handled the booking for in-laws they were in CW) as I’d be so disappointed.
I will be dropping these images to customer services I’ve got to be sure they would want to see it, not to moan as such but to just ask whether this is what it has to be in First Class?
Also no lounge access at UVF in any BA class, not mentioned anywhere and UVF is very very limited for anything else to eat or drink with 2-3hrs to kill.

Yes, definitely do - and arrive as late as you dare to UVF - I.e. our Sandals transfer got us there 3hrs before and with only one flight that day it’s literally 2-3 mins through passport and security - unless you have a loungepass or similar. In hindsight may have even worth the $50 pp to enter the lounge to sit in comfort vs 70s bus station. Though apparently a new airport is coming!
