Are these BA flights generally flying or not at the moment? I know that non-HKG residents are barred from entry right now anyways.
The July schedule is not finalized yet.
BA31/32 is still operating now so your inbound flight would probably not be canceled.
Your outbound flight ( BA28 ) may be cancelled, however, there is no guarantee. The demand in July and BA's scheduling department would decide this and you would probably know the answer by mid-June.

Also, if your flight operates and you're unable to travel to HK because you're a non-HK citizen, your only option would be able to get a FTV or change/refund your ticket according to the fare rules.

I have a flight booked from KUL to London in June. BA has now removed all KUL flights for June but my booking still shows as being confirmed. Any idea how long it takes for them to cancel flights once the schedule has changed?

Usually 24-48 hours.

Good Morning All

Slowly but steady trying to ramp up my flight inventory (with the full understanding that we need to polish our crystal balls and I might end up with plenty of vouchers) but I am wondering when BA will load the July inventory? Any good guess appreciated

Particularly I am looking into LHR - MUC (assuming of course Germany has no quarantine by then anymore and the FCO allows us travelling) where I think about 6 flights a day are scheduled, something even I believe is a bit too optimistic.

Cheers

You would also need to consider whether you would be permitted to enter Germany, which as of right now is not possible until 16 June at the earliest. Expect that to be extended. I suspect BA has no clear idea at the moment where it will fly with any reliability in July.

Thanks, also have a German passport so not an issue - yes, I believe mostly guess work at this time. Flights to MUC are around 70GBP at the moment so at least we won't bind too much capital in vouchers (without catering I don't see a proper point to book CE for a 1,2 hours flight)...

Given the poor efficiency of the route in terms of airframe utilisation and the very likely extension of entry restrictions into Australia I would rate the chances as negligible.

Disastrous for summer schedule:

On Thursday, Willie Walsh, chief executive of British Airways’ parent IAG, said it would not restart flying if the UK imposed a 14-day quarantine on passengers arriving in the country.

“If there is a 14-day quarantine, I wouldn’t expect us to be doing any flying in that situation, or very little flying,” said Mr Walsh. He added he could not see “an environment where people will want to fly into the UK if they are forced to quarantine for 14 days”.

In case of a 14-day quarantine upon arrival to the UK, the number of long-term vacationers would increase. Indeed people, who are still remotely working, would rent long-term ( 3 to 6 months ) houses in countries that allow foreigners and they would return back to the UK when the 14-day self-isolation measures are lifted.
