DOH - numerous times on QR
LIN - Back 2 Back
GOT - Back to Back
DFW - connecting for a flight back to London from Vegas
ORD - connecting for a flight to Vegas from London
BOS- connecting for a fight to London from Vegas
OAK - Found a reward flight on dates I needed then got to Vegas on Southwest
ATL - As a child on my first ever trip to the USA with my parents
DTW - another trip to Vegas. I remember this being a Delta flight from LGW
JFK - I’ve added this but it’s not true anymore as stayed in NYC for first time last year but had been thru a few times before I ever set foot in the city
AUH - In the early days of Etihad I booked a flight to Dubai with a connection. The 2nd sector was on a coach (with an airline boarding pass and flight number)

Two cities come to my mind immediately and that is definitely ZRH when I had quite a few opportunities before flights but never left the lounge and Taipei where I was mostly jet lagged that I didn’t leave the airport.
For quite a long time it was also OSL and BRU but already took the train to city
and lately I spent a few long enough layovers in SIN but chilled by the pool or in lounge too.
based on my movements through ATL I should add this too but actually I’ve never thought about leaving the airport.

I had a similar discussion with a random fellow traveler, in a Lounge at Charlotte (having bounced through ORD, IL into CLT, SC en route from LHR to ORF, VI)...
Does landing at an airport, merely as a transit, count as "visiting the State"
I decided I need to keep two lists... one for all States visited, and one where I properly left the airport!

But to answer the question:
FRA: transit for LHR-NGO via FRA
ORD and CLT: transits for LHR-ORF via ORD & CLT
PHL and DUB: transits for RIC-LHR via PHL & DUB (incidentally, my only visit to Eire!)
There's also quite a list of airports where I've arrived at or departed from the airport by car/bus/train without actually visiting the associated town/city:
UK: BHX, EMA, LTN, MAN, STN (plus LHR/LGW since I go to/from home)
EU: EIN, FRA, HEL, MUC, STR, TRN, ZRH
NA: MCO, ORF, RIC
FRA: transit for LHR-NGO via FRA
ORD and CLT: transits for LHR-ORF via ORD & CLT
PHL and DUB: transits for RIC-LHR via PHL & DUB (incidentally, my only visit to Eire!)
