Important reminder: please do NOT post guest offers or requests

Recap of the posting guidelines
1) Use this thread to mention you will be travelling through an airport such as LHR T5 on a given time and date. You can also mention non airport locations if you wish. A brief sentence or two will do, but please use this wiki format:
5-MAY-2019 / 17:00-19:00 / LHR T5 / FlyerTalk username / Maybe late arriving due to connections
2) Do NOT mention lounge guesting, hosting or requesting in the wiki or thread. Just say you'll be (e.g.) at T5. In a change to the rules for 2020, you may also mention the lounge you are planning on visiting, but again please do not post guest offers or requests. It will be assumed you are airside unless you say otherwise.

3) Edit the wiki entry if you can, but if you cannot edit it one of the many volunteers here will happily do it for you, just post your information below in the above format, be sure to include date, time and location. You can edit wikis after 90 days and 90 posts.

4) Use Private Messages to fix arrangements and rendez-vous location. One PM to the person mentioned in the wiki only, please, no repeats and definitely no hassling. If you don't get a reply, then that's life, not everyone has the time to attend to FT matters immediately, so try a PM to someone else instead.

Feel free to edit your own entry directly here, or post in the thread below instead and someone will assist. You need 90 posts and 90 days membership before you can edit the wiki.

Arrow Travel meet-up thread

Welcome to the British Airways Flyertalk Travel Meet-up Thread. Here are the simple rules:

1) Use this thread to mention you will be travelling through an airport such as LHR T5 on a given time and date. You can also mention non airport locations if you wish. A brief sentence or two will do, but please use this wiki format:5-MAY-2019 / 17:00-19:00 / LHR T5 Landside / FlyerTalk username / Maybe late arriving due to connections

2) Do NOT mention lounge guesting, hosting or requesting in the wiki or thread. Just say you'll be (e.g.) airside at T5. In a change to the rules for 2020, you may also mention the lounge you are planning on visiting, but again please do not post guest offers or requests.

5) Every so often we may well delete all posts, so that just the wiki and header information will remain. So don't regard your posts as permanent.

6) Please check the local COVID-19 regulations on social gatherings before arranging any meet-ups

The previous years' threads, which have more background to it, are to be found here:

Note in particular that some travel plans shown in the wiki for the first half of 2020 may have first been mentioned in the 2019 thread.

Mrs snaxmuppet and I will be at LHR T5 First Lounge the morning of 8th Jan on our way to YYZ (hopefully on an A350 with the new Club World Suites!) for a birthday break away if anyone fancies meeting up. Should arrive at about 0800 and leave at about 1100.

@navylad, Show again using the correct format!

It makes it easier for us to cut and paste for novices who are not able to post for themselves, as somebody has tried to do for you. As you are an old hand in these parts and have sufficient posts to edit the wiki, when you get a moment you might wish to make the corrections for yourself?

I had assumed by your username that you had service or merchant maritime connotation and "show again" would be understood. Therefore humour not pedantry - if you knew the joke for failure to show correctly first time!

sorry never heard it used in 18 years in the Royal Navy, not is it listed in Rick Jollys (RIP) Jackspeak; Say again however is used all the time, sorry to have not got your joke.

Something I am unclear about though is whether I should post in that format in the thread or whether the format is only necessary in the wiki?

I have assumed only needed in the wiki and that is why I used the correct format in the wiki and just normal chatspeak in the thread. Is that wrong? I wouldn't want to fall foul of the rules

Others may have different views, but it really makes no difference at all how you post in this thread when posting for information.

However if you are requesting someone else to post your entries from this thread into the wiki (usually because you do not have sufficient privileges to do it yourself) then I would have thought it would be courteous to place it in the format requested in the advice and guidance posted at the top of the wiki. It then allows somebody to just cut and paste a line direct from the post into the wiki without having to reformat or rearrange the details. See, for example, the post No 5 above by CanaryWharf which made that request and was laid out as requested by the thread moderator. I then could just cut and paste each line from the post into the correct date location in the wiki.

You are clearly a person of impeccable character and never had occasion to catch the eye of the jossman or Regulator! I still have show parades outstanding from the last century at one place

After Rick's days a new administrative minor sanction system came in (mirroring the younger services) for minor failings. The BR's now say:
The following are authorised minor administrative actions:

(1) Report Back Muster/Parades. Up to 3 musters/parades (45 mins maximum duration) - between 0700-2300 in whatever appropriate uniform and equipment as directed by the superior rank imposing the sanction. These may be appropriate in cases of poor timekeeping, turnout or standards of equipment. Relevant Skills Training, such as properly supervised drill and physical training, may be included if the service person’s failing warrants it. A drill lesson can only be imposed as a sanction to address failings in drill. All training is to be conducted by an appropriately qualified instructor. Presenting at a poor standard may result in an award of ‘show again’, up to a maximum of 2 ‘show again’ musters for each Muster/Parade awarded.‘
