Bassinet seat plus toddler

So this is the seat map for our jaunt down to SIN on BA11. with 35 BC and HJ seemingly blocked by non bassinet requiring people (paid seat selection maybe?) I can't seem to find any way of guaranteeing we all sit together in a three so my wife and I can manage the toddler.

No amount of calls to BAEC seem to have resulted in a creative solution (allowing me, as a gold, to book into one of the bassinet seats was mooted and the ostensibly helpful guy from the EC said he was attempting this last night but nothing came of it).

So does the FT hive mind have any other creative suggestions that don't involve leaving it to T-24 or check in and then apealing to BA's reason? Letting people book those seats in row 35 when they don't seem to need the bassinet looks like a really silly thing to allow from my point of view.

Happy to hear any and all ideas as I am fresh out.

Cheers

Could the seat possibly be taken by one single passenger with a baby in the bassinet? Not sure how that would show up, but guessing as the bassinet is the baby seat, it would just show as one occupied seat? Happy to admit I could be wrong.

Not directly what you are asking, but how old is the toddler? The bassinets really aren't that big. The type you would be looking for is like a small baby bouncer - for some reason they call it car seat style, but it's nothing like a car seat. If your child is older than about 18 months, they are probably too big/heavy for the bassinet anyway and you may be best aiming for the back of the cabin where you are more likely to get an adjacent empty seat and you are close to the toilets. Apologies if you already know all this.
