OW Emerald - Preferred seating for family on the same itin?

Hi All,

(OW E via AA) If I'm traveling with family in economy, will I be able to select emergency exit / bulkhead seats for me and my family if traveling on the same itin free of charge?

Thanks!

Yes, that's no problem, subject of course to passengers meeting the requirements for exit rows etc.

OWE can select seats for free for all passengers in their itinerary as well as friends/colleagues travelling in the same cabin on separate bookings, including exit rows on long haul.

See under "Executive Club Members" on this page: https://www.britishairways.com/en-us...ving-your-seat in the section "Do I have to pay?"

Not if you have a basic economy ticket, unless you're on a codeshare, then it gets a bit complicated.

Are we talking long haul or short haul here - I assume the former based on the mention of bulkheads in which case Airprox's post is relevant.

Also are you on a basic/HBO ticket?

Ah yes, I'd forgotten that little wrinkle thanks for the reminder ^ - A Basic Economy ticket prevents seating requests for other bookings as I recall.

BA Golds still get free seat selection on Basic fares for their own bookings, does that not extend to other OWEs?

Not exit rows if your family include kids.
