I'm sorry you found that offensive - no offense was intended. I was just relaying how a few of my friends view their own deafness. And you are right, I am referring to people in the Deaf community (or rather the part of the Deaf community I am associated with, as it is not one homogeneous blob!) They do not isolate themselves at all - although they do feel isolated at times, obviously.
Indeed - I pointed that out as I have seen it on planes more than once.
