Switched to VS - do I get Avios?

Switched to VS - do I get Avios?
My BA transatlantic flight was cancelled and I accepted a switch to the Virgin flight to the same destination. Can I still get my BA points and miles? Do I have to call BA and beg?

You should get the Avios and Tier Points, yes you do need to claim it. See the Original Routing Credit guide in the BA Forum Dashboard.
