You got a bad deal irrespective of peak or off-peak. Was there really no cash ticket for under £400, which would have made cash better value?

I'm guessing I am now a victim of this trial, albeit not terribly.
The booking was made over 7 days ago.
I'm guessing they won't allow me to revert back to the original level without paying the £35 each penalty now? Which I'm guessing wouldn't make it worth changing?

27 December northbound it's just the 0620 flight which has any Y reward availability. For J you can get two seats on the 0620, 1815, and 2105 flights. Prices per person are:
Southbound on 29th there are only two LHR services with any availability but it's 1 J seat on each (0705 and 1355). There are 4 seats in J to LGW at 2115. Prices per person are:

BTW, my mistake I only looked at LHR for the northbound, I should have put LON in rather than LHR. There is quite a bit of availability on LCY services too on 27th so 1540d 3 in Y, 1710d 7 in Y, 1805d 9+ in Y, 1915 9+ in Y. Per person in Y exLCY on 27th is

What has happened? I wanted to book one of these Reward Saver flights for later in the year (it's not certain that I will travel on the particular date), but not only has the trail stopped, they seem to have increased all RFS prices!

I've booked a few flights from TXL to LHR this morning, for various times during 2020, and still get the expected options starting at 8000 Avios + 50p.

I think it helps to guess at IAG's perspective. The central case remains the 9k+£31 - the "pricing" at which the whole RFS option makes sense from a cost/loyalty POV, and against which BA RM consider releasing more seats for the credit AGL pay them. Seperately to that, AGL will offer flexibilty: more avios or less avios but only where it makes sense for them, buying your avios for less than say 0.6p or selling some of the 9k back to you for >1p.

and yet we still have the error that combining one of these flights with a long-haul redemption will add the higher amount of Avios (for which the 50p redemption would apply) yet still charging the passenger full taxes and fees.
