BA NEW CLUB SUITE, WILL I GET IT?

What with the arrival of BA's biggest change in business class for some decades, this thread is intended to ask the inevitable question that I am sure many will want to know the answer to, something along the lines of "I am travelling on XX Jan 2036 from Heathrow to Sydney, will I get the new business class seat?"

Please do ask if you are not sure if your flight will fly the seat or not, its safe to say the more info you provide the more accurate the answer will be.

Aircraft involved: A350-1000XWB (also known as A351 and A350-1000), B787-10 (also known as B781) and a limited number of B777-200ER (B772).

Planned flights with the new Club Suites (information as of 16 December 2019):

I'd be happy to have a flight to a country that lets me in! The seat is somewhat a secondary consideration, as long as its J or F!

But, you're right ... we need something to talk about and look forward to. I look forward to the return of DYKWIA posts about speaker-phones in Lounges, and warm white wine, as well!

Will they start to fall back now they're undertaking some 777 conversions to freight?

Can we assume that, given some accelerated retirements, the odds of Club Suite will now be improved?

I wonder also if refits will have been accelerated as all airframes can now be made available?

It still takes time to build the seats.

I think that mathematics would say yes for an individual who is flying. But for a random individual, I think the loss of flights overall would lead to the answer no.

The supply chain economics probably says no. There have been reports about the determining factor for refits is the production of the seats themselves. Now there might be some delays, which means there might be seats available for refits that wouldn't be otherwise (provided seats for a 777 are equal to those for an A350.) OTOH we don't know what the payment plan is exactly for the seats, and if there is an opportunity to save a bit of cash right now, BA would probably take it!

Really not sure if this is the right thread for my question, so bear with me if I am not supposed to ask here.

Planning to fly IST-LAX sometime in mid August, and have as of now two options to get the Club Suite, LHR-SEA on 787-10 or LHR-AUS on A351K. While everything is still up in the air, how likely is it that these flights will operate in August, and which one is the safer bet?

Out with the crystal balls again I would suggest. SEA would be my prognosis, purely because AUS currently cannot receive international flights whereas SEA is able so to do.

The refit schedule was already limited by the rate of seat production.

I've heard seat production may be slowed due to coronavirus (distancing etc)

Does anyone know if they plan to overhaul/refit the old Longhaul 777's from Gatwick to Tampa?

I stopped using BA for that trip as I found the Club world offering quite inferior to Norwegian air's Premium economy class.

All of the Gatwick 777's have been refurbished recently, but with 'old' Club World, there are no plans for Club World Suite at Gatwick

As mentioned above the Gatwick fleet was refurbed, it has great IFE (better than Norwegian) and whilst it’s the original Club World layout, it’s great for Couples in the middle sections. As well as some of the window seats if travelling solo. It’s also a flat bed as well as a nice foot stall, including great bedding and better catering.

I don’t see how they are inferior product(s) to a premium economy seat but I’m sure you have your own personal preferences that Norwegian provide.

A rather peculiar choice, But each to their own. In normal times just take the AA 77W to MIA and then hop up to TPA if the BA seat isn’t up to much
