That’s a huge drop in the availability of First to Dubai; I’m assuming it will still be available on the third flight. Good for BA’s yield, but not so good for redemptions!

Booked YYZ-LHR-YYZ in early November in PE ... I shall miss the 747s, but will remain optimistic about the 2-4-2 PE arrangement until I have reason not to. It can't be worse than Air Canada.

I am guessing the addition if the 2nd DXB mean that BA are expecting to add there 5th aircraft sometime in February.

Especially as BLR (BA119/BA118), DXB (BA107/BA106), TLV (BA163/BA162) and YYZ (BA093/BA092) are also showing as A350 operated to end of March.

Looking at Tel Aviv and Bangalore CW avios reward flight availability when the new CW suite has been introduced on both routes. There seems to be 'normal' availability and same avios redemption cost (# of avios) as before the a350 switch. So at least based on my limited research, it looks like the introduction of the new CW Suite won't impact redemption availability or cost. Has anyone noticed anything to the contrary?

It's Club World, same as before, there has been no sign from anyone that you would have to pay more for the new seat.

Just looking at beyond March next year and at the moment the A350s appear to disappear. Are we expecting the destinations to be recast? Or have BA just not got round to scheduling the planes for April and beyond next year yet?

It’s common to rejig aircraft around destinations with the switch from winter to summer schedules which always happens at the end of March. I guess they are still deciding where the 350 needs to go during the summer season.

Additionally, all of the routes announced thus far, allow each frame to operate the outbound and inbound flight within a 24 hour period. This is logical based on the initial deliveries and for crews to build up their hours and cycles. Starting with the summer 2020 schedule, BA may chose to deploy the A350 on longer sectors such as to South America or South East Asia.

I seem to have lost touch with this thread... what is happening about a FT mini-do on the A350 when it arrives? Are we having one - MAD was mentioned? How do we guarantee with get a A350 and not a replacement? I would not want to book and find I was on a A320! Have I missed something?

It's been mentioned upthread already, but it seems it will be a fairly last minute change to the schedule if/when the A350 is added. Apparently Airbus give BA a months notice for delivery dates.

You can't guarantee an A350 unfortunately.. although I imagine if they did have to swap one out it may still be a widebody, particularly if they use the existing widebody flight for it.

If it’s flying in July, news must be coming out soon as flight crew rosters for July will be out during early June.

Sitting on the outside terrace in GF yesterday and looking down at the ground at one of the gates, think it was A17 or A18, it had A350 painted on the nose wheel stop.

I'm now wondering in aviation geek terms, is the ground is painted in T5B and T5C at various gates too?

I should have taken a photo so......sorry!

Hi,

Well , all the gates will have the applicable aircraft types painted on the ground . ( Or were you asking specifically at the A350 markings?)

Regards
