I think that I got rather lucky. A few bounces in the clouds and the feeling a few times that we were about to plummet, but overall not that bumpy a flight CDG - LHR. I was still happy to have a BA Pilot rather than an Air France one though.

Things seem OK for the remaining flights. Wind has died down if that was the cancellation factor. We just cant get on them as they are already oversold.

Sitting patiently on board BA908 to FRA right now awaiting a delayed push back. There seem to have been a few go-around and delays seem to be accumulating.

There are tickets going on the Flybe services into Southampton this afternoon if you are in need - appreciate that SOU is not exactly near LGW, but at least you can be out of the airport within 10 minutes of landing and on a london bound train pretty quickly. Its very windy today at SOU as well (my garden fence can testify to this...) but departures seem to be mostly normal, with the exception of some cancellations to AMS.

Just checked in at the Hampton Hilton at LGW, wind appears to have died down a bit now.

ongoing national rail service disruption affecting southern, southeastern, southwest and thameslink because of wind. Queue at Victoria ticket desks.

We flew into Heathrow today. Was so windy, my wife had to throw up in to the BA children’s drawstring bag that we received on the outbound flight.

At least the winds are largely down the runway, and it is dry. It was the dark dirty rainy stormy nights with the wind from the south which I used to hate, especially when the old hangars on the South side caused extra turbulence on very short final.

It isn’t any more - the rain has arrived and it’s still pretty foul out now.

Weather is a funny old thing, we landed at LGW at 0646 from FLL and apart from a few shakes on the way in it was pretty smooth.
