So the new First service starts on the 31st March on all flights ex London and I have to say that I’m really impressed.
The new equipment will really raise the service that we can deliver and I’m excited to see and use it.
Some of the new things are warm nuts served before takeoff and a larger hot towel served on a slate tile.
The new noise cancelling headphones will be supplied by Meridian.
After takeoff we will serve 3 canapés in a similar dishes to the service time used in CW.
Happy to answer other questions.

On the whole, this seems positive, and I think pretty much everything seems like an improvement, except for Afternoon Tea. Even in CW you get the option to have an alternative to the sandwiches, so this really seems like a step backwards. Personally I think it should be a sort of hybrid afternoon tea with the cakes and scones for everyone and an option of sandwiches or a few alternative small plate dishes (hot and cold).
I actually think Virgin get it really right in J with their second meal 'Extra Bites' option - they have a range of small plates available and you can order as many as you want (when you want). I'll caveat that with the fact i haven't flown them since they introduced their new Afternoon Tea, so I have no idea how this fits with the Extra Bites.

Have you "tried" the new bedding?
What are the big food changes like?
Will the loading of dishes better reflect the ability for all pax have more choice?
Trying out the new service in a month...is it much to 'bed in' like CW or should it be fine?!
Thanks!

No.

Still unable to see the menus.

From what I have read, yes.

Having seen a chef's chat, it looks great!
Main dish with a choice of side vegetables
Cold option for afternoon tea
Snack menu (essentially stuff from the club kitchen but in a bowl)
Longer flights get some other hot snacks too, like a trio of sliders
A long lost of cocktails and mocktails

Main dish with a choice of side vegetables - great
Cold option for afternoon tea - great
Snack menu (essentially stuff from the club kitchen but in a bowl) - disappointing they can't do better than that, AA J has a much better snack offering than CW so they should be able to up their game here
Longer flights get some other hot snacks too, like a trio of sliders - great
A long lost of cocktails and mocktails - great, particularly the mocktails as it will be nice to have something different to drink when you want a break from the alcohol, the current soft drink selection is pretty uninspiring

The menu for my LAX next weekend is still showing as a 'standard' F menu - no mention of sides. Is this likely to change?
