Who pays for change of airport [LGW-LHR connection]

I am looking at some flights to LAS from DUB. The return is LAS/LGW then change to LHR/DUB. This will all be on one ticket
Who pays for that and how is it done.
There is a 3 /12 hour layover between arriving at Gatwick and the flight to Dublin from LHR

And to be clear you have to take your luggage with you as well

Remember you will have needed to drop bags off no later than 45 minutes before the DUB departure. Though if you are returning back to LHR I'd put them in left luggage to help the turnround at DUB.

best avoided if possible, IMO.

of course if you are saving lots of money, or have a London layover, it may be worth it.

DUB-LGW on EI metal is available as a BA codeshare, 6 services a day.

You know some people get lost on arrival at LGW and never make it back to DUB.

Talking about getting lost at LGW and without dwelling on throwing away the last sector, I was once asked by an elderly American lady whether this was the train to Brighton. We were on the NORTH-SOUTH shuttle in the days when BA arrived into the NORTH terminal.

Done that, but of course NO Tier Points on EI!

The cost-saving of ex-DUB has taken us that route quite often. The inconvenience of LGW-LHR and the overnight at DUB is offset by the cash savings.

LGW-LHR (or versa) xfer ... It is the usual trick to avoid BA checking your luggage through to final ex-EU destination when you don't want to take that final leg or travel HBO

We always take the last leg as we get to DUB from EMA which is 20 minutes away from my house. Usually in the region of 15 return, no car parking fees as we get dropped off and pay for overnight with IHG points.

Or just take the train from Gatwick via St Pancras to the Notts/Derby area for around 30 and save yourself the trek to Heathrow at your own expense and the subsequent connection at Dublin. Not to mention the time saving.
