But in all seriousness C-W-S is an absolute gentleman from what I can make out. Every time I've had a question he's always been on hand to give an excellent and clear response. So shout out and a big thanks to him whoever he is.

(Warning: you tend to get a bit of Stockholm syndrome towards your 'tache around Nov 29th, be careful!)

I was also thinking along the same lines. I was half expecting to read an online obituary for Mr. Bigwalruss as he had gotten to see the face of C-W-S, so had to be “dealt with”!

What a great story! I just took my 4-year old granddaughter on a quick trip from DSM to Chicago with an overnight stay at the ORD Hilton last October. (It was a huge success and we're booked again in May for 2 nights.) She also travels with a bear and a Buzz Lightyear figure and was VERY unhappy when she had to let the bag containing them go out of her sight and through the conveyor. I am definitely showing her these picture sand telling her the story next time I visit.

Every trip we go on is thoroughly documented on video. Last night, I finished editing the highlights of the trip and burned onto disc. The last minute or so is simply a montage of Teddy's journey home to a backdrop of sophisticated jazz in keeping with the standard of Teddy's travel.

The Second Best Toy Return Story
Pink Teddy takes the cake and me, a novelist, read every word. So many twists, turns, and then the perfect ending.
Here's a historical one for you.
1950. I am a child flying on a Boeing Double-Decker Stratacruiser from Honolulu to Tokyo. At night the seats are made up into bunks with my parents below and me on top--like a train compartment.
Shortly after we arrived at the Hotel Tokyo it was bedtime again. I needed my Blue Velvet Elephant to sleep (made by my mommy). He was missing! My mother realized, with horror, that he had been left in the bunk. She immediately called Pan Am.
"So sorry, but that plane has already departed for Rome. It won't return for a week" was the reply.
We went to the Takashimaya department store the next day to find an elephant. This was a good plan because they actually had a little zoo on the roof with a real elephant. The replacement did not satisfy.
A week later I was getting ready for bed and there came a knock on the hotel room door.
It was a Pan Am captain in full uniform. "I believe I have something for your daughter," he said. (During the flight, I had been permitted to sit on his lap and "fly the plane." I had remarked that it wasn't heavy at all.)
And good to know there other reunions happening!
(As a side note, last month I left an iPad on Jet Blue--first thing I've lost since Ellie--and they found, returned Fed X, NO CHARGE. I did send a gift to the man who took care of it. The funny thing was that his name is Ezra and one of my books has Ezra in the title.)
So what's a Golden Ticket and how can we send one to this amazing guy?

I'm obviously very late to the party here, but KUDOS to CWS.
The effort to return Teddy was wonderful, but your photodocumentary was terrific!
And now our tale, of our little "Moosie", the little companion who accompanies us on ALL trips. He just loves to sit in windows and gaze out (ship windows are even better, because he is then rocked to sleep, of course!).
Moosie is about 3-4 inches tall.
In Italy, about 3 years ago, I was taken ill, and landed in hospital. DH extended our stay in our hotel (thank you travel insurance!), for himself and then for a few more days of recuperation for me. Of course, housekeeping was allowed in a few times to straighten up the room, and change linens...
Ordinarily, we are very careful to keep Moosie in a safe place when we are "out", but with a medical emergency situation that lasted over several nights... ...
And when we were packing up, Moosie was.... MISSING! We were surprisingly distraught (yeah, sounds stupid, but it's true). We almost tore the room apart.
We told the front desk, and they checked with housekeeping and Security (lost and found). Zippo.
About 3 weeks later, when we were home, we got an email from the hotel. Moosie had been found!
And we were about to take another trip in about 10 days, and, well, Moosie just *had* to join us.
So Moosie arrived a few days later in a FedEx parcel.
He had gone through the industrial laundry. His little antlers were a bit floppy, and his little t-shirt was almost in tatters, but other than that, he looked really great.
He still does get nervous whenever he sees a washer or dryer, alas.
If only we had all known of CWS's private escort services...
(Ooops, that doesn't sound quite right....!)
CWS, you went so far above and beyond, there are no words! What a nice story, with brilliant photos.
Thanks for sharing!
