Arguably as the 742 didn't have winglets (and therefore no decals on winglets) this is a truer representation of the retor livery surely!

No doubt about it - she IS a beauty

The Union Jack on the front, under the cockpit window is inverted. Good attention to details indeed.

On the right hand side of the aircraft yes; probably intentionally. Imagine the flag pole is at the front, and the flag is trailing behind in the wind. See the British flag protocol here:

https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/bri...tocol/#index16

The Union flag on the left hand side of the BOAC aircraft looks 'normal'.

While on the subject of directionality though, the BA 100 logo on the left hand side; the Speedmarque isn't facing the direction of travel it usually does, and doesn't match the direction of the Speedbird on the tail. Minor detail of course.

Whilst I have no interest whatsoever in paint on the outside of aeroplanes, I have to say that looks quite good.

I wonder whether that's because the BA 100 logo comes as a unit with that directionality?

Hi,

At the National Museum of Flight at East Forturne near Edinburgh ,they have the front section of a BOAC 707 and with it all clean and polished the livery looks beautiful

Same here, I’m flying back to London on Wednesday night (on Norwegian *cough*) and will almost certainly check it out as I’ll be at the airport.

Can you recommend a good vantage point at ORD accessible via public transport? (Or Uber/Lyft, I guess)

If you have time to spare you can watch a two-hour live stream from LHR today on YouTube.

The poster is Big Jets TV.

Spoiler alert: nothing much happens for 50 minutes (save for building anticipation).
