What are your thoughts? Looking to fly LHR to LAX and back from NYC in September next year. Ignoring EX-EU. What would you class as a good value cash ticket in business with direct flights? Currently wide open at £1677 each return but I am hoping this will drop.

I'm flying back home from JFK as I just redeemed Alaska miles for Qantas MEL-SYD-LAX-JFK in Premium, waiting for Business to be released (there is U class (business) availability on QF99 LAX-SYD (Boeing 747-400) on 09FEB and it is available for Avios redemption but not available for Alaska miles redemption. I hope they will release it soon.
