There may have been on the original ticket, but they have a lot of flexibility with re-routing.

I'd call up and get your MIA-PIT-JFK changed to something else as if left as it is you're losing 70 TPs unnecessarily.

Quite - I was just wondering whether I would have to accept MIA-JFK direct, but I was aiming for the same flights that you have. I'll see what they say.

They'll offer that as they'll see it as doing you a favour. Politely decline and give them the exact flights and numbers you want. They'll do it.

I accepted the direct JKF-MIA but that was my choice as it gives me 18 hours in NYC.

They are now saying it won't rebook as it is less than MCT at JFK outbound because of immigration times - I am trying to explain pre-clearance in Shannon but not getting very far.

It won't rebook because the cancelled the flight. Get them to route you JFK-CLT-MCO if you like, then MCO-MIA the following day.

So, apparently, despite the system putting me on a JFK-CLT segment, it comes up as inside MCT at JFK for re-issue purposes, and there appeared to be nothing they could do to over-ride it. So I have gone for a night stop at JFK and on to MIA the next day. To be fair she was very helpful and I have also managed to change the BA flight back to LHR as mine had been switched to a 777.

I think she was the same agent as Wozza dealt with yesterday, which helped, as she now semi understands what we are trying to do, and why I actually wanted a connecting flight to MIA and not to go direct. I guess there is every chance of further changes.

Seem to have been rerouted via Charliotte with reasonable connections and seats basically preserved.

I wonder why the system just re-routed you guys JFK-CLT-MIA and yet I was completely deconstructed and sent LGW-MCO?

Given I have a reasonable itinerary, do I need to call AA? It's probably the same as vintagepilot, a 1:50 connection st JFK to the charlotte flight. Inclined not to muddy the waters

Dunno, mine was originally changed to JFK-CLT-MCO-MIA, so I have got my return TPs back but lost a very useful additional 40 for the way out. I need a cup of tea, then I might try to update the wiki!

And the confirmation has just arrived - phew.

I'm with you bisonrav, I've been given the JFK-CLT-MCO change. Gives me an extra 40 TPs. I'll leave it like that for the time being as the flights are for August.

I'm sure there will be other changes.
bisonrav likes this.

they are correct. No allowance is made for Ba1 in the mct table. They can’t book something with a connection less than mct (which for any JFK T7 to T8 connection is 2 hours).

Any suggestions of best alternatives given the MCT and hotel costs?

Well, no email from American, but I've been re-routed too in place of AA1240 on Friday 2nd August.

Offering given is now AA2580 1850 JFK - CLT and AA2092 22:10 CLT - MCO, arriving 23:52.
1h45 in JFK and 1h in CLT.

Also appears the Finnair leg from HEL is now an A330?

My flights don't appear to have changed (AA4454 JFK-DCA on 2nd, AA1048 DCA-MIA the following day).

It has been an A330 since at least mid-Jan when I added my seat preferences and noticed it. Looking forward to my throne seat!
