It's a bit of a pain. I have a LCY-JFK-SFO at the end of July and they cancelled my JFK-SFO and put me on one 2 hours later. I tried for an earlier flight but the MCT meant a 'no' even though it was only 5 mins under. . I'll try to change it on the day when I get to JFK. Though the AA Flagship lounge is a nice place to wait!

Anyone booking a hotel in London for the Thursday night? I'm debating the Moxy over at LCY or staying central and heading out in the morning on the DLR.

I won't be as it is cheaper for me to head home to Crawley (the trip on the Friday will cost me 60p to get from home to LCY, whereas the Thursday evening around £5 if I splash out on the HEx).

Are people coming up for breakfast in Pilots Bar or just turning up for the babybus?

I’m based in London so will stay at home after the positioning flights and then to LCY from home on the Friday morning.

I’m planning on arriving at LCY about 10/1030 so will have breakfast in Pilots Bar.

I think it is a set amount of stuff rather than a voucher for a specific amount? https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/29414848-post59.html

In any case there isn't much point arriving to LCY early, and I felt the main benefit to the above is you have somewhere pleasant to sit for a while before you go to the gate.

From the thread @KARFA linked it is apparently 1x main course + (1 x side, 1 x drink) OR (2 x drinks).

The menu is available on the LCY website (PDF) though the filename suggests that version is from January so it might have changed.

The eagle eyed will have notice that the return legs for a lot of people are going to be ending up zeroing in on the 5th August which is the second HAL strike date, the one the emergency services are likely to join. Looks like it might be an interesting day...

Trying not to think about that bit... and the day after as well? Going to be interesting for me and everyone else I am sure.

So far though, no schedule changes for the rest of the trip... fingers crossed

My points requirements changed so I used the last schedule change to book the 5pm BA flight direct from MIA-LHR on the Sunday - Giving me all day in South Beach.

Possibly a couple of days if these strikes kick off!

Last week I was simply told to have breakfast at Pilot's: no voucher, no specified upper spending limit. I just showed my boarding pass, ordered whatever I wanted and never saw a bill.

I did wonder whether Pilot's might be inflating the bill before passing it to BA, and how BA would check, but I decided I didn't really care.

You usually get handed a letter at check-in which describes what you can have . Well I did last time on this route.

Staff know what's within scope of the offer and what isn't and will give you a bill for any extras that aren't in scope and they tell people when they order if it's free or not so no surprises. Remember BA negotiated this with Pilots so will pay that amount X number of passengers and no more. Pilots staff take your details from your BP so they can't just add a load of fictional passengers to the list and it's not a lot of passengers either so pretty quick for BA to check the bill.

I'm on BA1 tomorrow morning so I'll double check on the letter / voucher and report back here.
