This thread relates to SPG Law's proposed Group Proceedings against British Airways, in respect of the Data Protection Act 2018 (which incorporates the GDPR).
There is a separate thread that relates to the actual data breaches and their implications for customers, which is to be found here: BA Investigating Theft of Personal and Financial Data

The one law firm that currently seems to be persuing a Class Action against BA is SPG. They have a specific site set up at https://www.badatabreach.com/ - please make sure you check all the FAQs and terms and conditions and make sure the Class Action is right for you before you sign up.

* SPG is now PGMBM.
* Payments are being made through Shieldpay, who are seeming to be both lethargic and/or inept.

I called PGMBM last night. They are not expecting to be sending out letters for another couple of weeks. The person I spoke to said that they felt the wording in the email that went out giving a 14-day timeframe was confusing. The 14-days quoted in the letter is related to the confidentiality clause and not to when they might reveal settlement amounts.

Thanks

The KL letters went out quickly, there doesn't seem to be any argument about the amounts, so I'd guess there is more to the delay than meets the eye given who the lead solicitor is. Either that or the typist is on holiday in Palma.

Once more unto the breach, perhaps, or possibly 2B or not 2B?

It's a shame that PGMBM were the lead solicitors

Or the fact maybe that most claims were signed with PGMBM and they're under a heftier workload than some of the others? I don't think it's as simple as sending a bulk email to all the Group 1's to say this is what you're getting etc. And corresponding on an individual basis is going to take some time.

At the risk of sounding like a grumpy old man (which I am!), I could suggest that if ANYONE had heard anything this Thread would light up like New Year’s Eve. And, no, I haven’t heard anything either … but I will let the Community know when I do. 😎

See post #481. Nothing definitive, but maybe a clue.

following on from post #481, a colleague spoke with PGMBM yesterday and was told they are going to deliver all emails at the same time so nothing until they are all ready with individual settlement amounts.

apparently, when pushed, they said this is in the days to 1 week time frame. This coincides with the 2weeks suggested on 22nd July.

Keller Lenkner sent out letters detailing amounts and fees on 8th July. The confidential nature of the settlement is reinforced.

I assume a smaller client-base facilitated that?

I am patient.

I have no idea about how many people each legal firm respresented.

I'm led to believe PGMBM were the lead solicitors, which would suggest a large client base.
