I always put on the socks provided by the airline. I can only remember once having to go back and put shoes on to go to the loo. That was in BA F.

My favourite crew experience when flying WT+ was asking whether there was anything sparkling in the drinks trolley. The reply from the very gruff woman was "you're not in Club this time, are you, sweety?"

Totally unsatisfactory, but having sat on it for several months I would personally move on. The time for dealing with these things is really on the day or soon after.

If you put in a complaint the airline will close ranks, no-one will claim to remember the incident several months later and I seriously doubt anything will happen.

What shoes? Did you not read the OP?

You are an admirably tolerant person.
I would have reported him officially. Furthermore, if there was any suggestion to me that I ought not to report him because it might affect his promotion, I would have made all the more effort to ensure that he did not get his promotion.

It's important to always provide feedback for extraordinary customer service, good or bad. It will be for BA to decide if it affects his promotion.

Indeed. Having given this an airing here and seen the general response, my hope would be that OP won't just let this kind of thing go if it happens again. A word with the CSM or a firm but calm complaint soon after the event would probably have had some impact, but the moment has long passed.

As a start, have a look at this thread: What is "Mixed Fleet" - what does it mean?

I do feel for the OP. I’ve had two flights with extremely bad ‘Flight Attendants’ on AA - one where I was just a witness, we had a large contingent of refugees that were connecting onto the ORD flight at LHR (you can tell by the distinctive bags of paperwork that all have numbers on them) - one poor chap was racially abused by an African American FA - it was disgusting and I sent an email to them telling AA exactly what I thought of such behaviour.
The other one I was the recipient of unsavoury treatment. I was in Y coming back from JFK - the guy behind me made it impossible to sit without him literally hammering on the back of my seat. I asked - politely if he would not do it and got a very loud mouthful of expletives back. At this point the FA turned up - without finding out anything about the situation decided to join in shouting and abusing me too. I’m in no way a snowflake but the whole episode left me in tears, I ended up the next day with very bad reflux which my doctor was convinced was a heart attack - to this day I think these incidents were related - by the way it wasn’t a heart attack !

I'm already picturing those news articles.

If the OP did not exaggerate, then it wouldn't be the type of F/A you want to talk back to. You could test the waters with a "What's your name, again?" and see how the F/A reacts to that (exploding or calming down).

If the flight was full, there's always the "the safety video said to remain seated and use the seat belt during the flight. I can only access my seat by sneaking through J"

I have read this with great interest.
On a flight, I'm really reluctant to be as assertive as I'd be on the ground in case it's taken the wrong way. For a start, I'll have earplugs in, and secondly. on long haul, I'll have taken something to help me sleep.
It's a blessing that practically all my BA FAs are complete treasures, but had the chundering occurred on my most recent WTP flight, I'd have milled in the Y galley and asked for an escort home. After all, the parents of the child behind me were happy enough to let her run up through the curtain and disrupt the people up front. - the FAs in J must have been at their wit's end.
That said, it's poor form of an FA to give you a hard time when it's unjustified. If he was that bad, then fine, write in - but I can imagine that for the FAs, it must feel like they are bouncers at times, without the benefit of giving him a good kicking and throwing him out.

This is definitely inappropriate and insulting. But you have to understand the complain to United always means useless with a $50-$100 Voucher valid for a year...

To start with, The FA was completely inappropriate.

With that being said (see below):

Problem as i see it, is that you peeked your head into the upper zone instead of just opening up the shade and strolling. A little backbone goes a long way. Also, why didn't you hop past the puke instead of walking through it. Your behavior demonstrates a particular personality type that begs to be taken advantage of by a FA...live and learn i guess.

As it happens, what you say resonates; in some circumstances I can be pathetically timid - you are right, I should have just walked in with confidence.

Re the puke, the first time it was that people were there cleaning up/milling. On the way back - I did try - but it was a surprisingly large area (especially so as I think it was just from a kid).

On a lighter note - loving all the gags about socks. Certainly learnt my lesson there!
