Lounge access - 'three hours before flight', not before?
And not before... ?
Lounge agent [at GVA] couldn't produce the rule in front of me when asked.
Never had that before. Is it a legitimate T&C?
[edit: it's a BA lounge, not a partner/third-party lounge]

Common at GVA. 10-20% of the time that I visit (admittedly peak ski weekends) it's at capacity. I'm not sure the lounge has a vacuum cleaner either, given the general state of it when I visit.
If you have priority pass you're much better off at the PP lounge at the other end of the building, which even has free chocolates.

(lounge agent’s way of saying “ you really don’t want to spend more than three hours in here, believe me .....”)

Wait. Does this mean if you buy a CW ticket from BA with a 5 hour layover, you get to sit at the gate for the first couple of hours after you arrive at the connecting airport? That's good to know when deciding who to choose as you're travel partner.
Honest question. Would anyone who hasn't read this thread know this "rule"? (Yet another good reason for following FlyerTalk).
If you book such an itinerary, will BA inform you of the fact that your lounge access is more limited than the cxn layover time?
Any other airlines doing this at their branded lounges?
(Btw, occupancy limitations and restricted access is not what I'm asking about. Simply the OP's stated arbitrary 3 hours occupancy limit.)

I think it is very hatd to have a layover with a CW ticket in GVA. More likely you start or end your CW journey there. And while I find it annoying, capacity constraints would apply anywhere, most likely for local fire safety regulations.
