Ideas for trip in April exEU/UK to NA
Hi All,
I'm planning a trip to Canada or US (west coast) on the first week of April for two weeks, but also want to stack up on some tier points at the same time.
I will be in London but I'm okay with repositioning flights as I realized fares are cheaper if it's ex EU.
Any ideas or feedback will be appreciated!

Think you could put together an awk script or something to do it fairly simply.

Then, from that point, check out oneworld business class flights on Google Flights. See where on the west coast you can go for which price. After that, you can route most AA tickets this way, just need to play with ITA matrix for availability:
GOT/AMS/LUX - LHR - JFK - SFO/LAX - (Your destination here)
That will yield 720 TP, without postitioning flights. You should be able to have such fares for ~1700 GBP. You can often add a leg to HEL before LHR for some extra money. That's 160 TP so also good value. You'll find practical examples in the Tier Point Run thread.

Well, most places in the US West Coast are good for TP runs. I've found Canada a tad more difficult. Good origins lately are: GOT, AMS, LUX

Excuse my ignorance! Would you be so kind as to break down how that flight yields 720 TPs please? Try as I might I can't work it out!
Thanks!

LHR-JFK: 140 TPs
JFK-SFO: 140 TPs
LAX-XXX: 40 TPs
XXX-LAX: 40 TPs
SFO-JFK: 140 TPs
JFK-LHR: 140 TPs
LHR-GOT/AMS/LUX: 40 TPs
40+140+140+40+40+140+140+40=720 TPs

Hi everyone
Next year I have a major trip lined up for October to the USA. I'm keen to fly F into either BOS or ORD, then to LAS(J) then to DEN (J) then back to LON (F).
Is there anyway to book this on one fare and what are the best IATA codes to use for the search? Looking to travel in Sept if that helps?

I was only calculating 140 points AMS to JFK, didn't realise that the actual number was 40 + 140.
Many thanks!

Folks, trying to fly to HKG, SIN or BKK on 20 Oct returning from TYO on 25 Oct. happy to do an ex EU as long as it doesn't require positioning the day before. Struggling to find anything on oneworld that isn't too much over £2k. If anyone has any ideas...please say!

TYO is going to be your sticking point here, I’ve had experience with pricing up quite a few Asia trips and once you throw a side trip to Tokyo in the mix, it gets messy!
Your options in my opinion are:
1) Do an AMS>BKK routing via whatever city you need out of HKG/KUL/BKK/SIN and see if TYO reward flights are available with JAL/MH/CX
2) Get to KUL/BKK and take advantage of CX/ML fares to TYO from there (have seen £850 business on GF)
3) I think the BA AMS-BKK ‘good’ fare is 60 days advance purchase, so try QR out of every ex-EU city you can think of, including BUD/PRG etc.

Any idea if there is any good Club World fare (BA or IB or AA) from any points in Europe to YYZ (in the range of $ 1500) around Nov 30 and return Dec 12?

Even if it was still available, good luck getting BA to to honor that one.
