Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

They've sorted out a trip for me to MIA using the ARN-MIA fare. I worked out the route on ITA Matrix this morning, sent it to them via their web page and it's all been sorted today, including upgrading into F with a GUF1. (Thanks @madfish for the heads up on that )

I've previously used ITA Powertools but haven't been able to get the ticket to price into £ on AA.com since the link seems to have been lost to the UK site, and I've incurred some large foreign transaction fees on my BA Amex card because the ticket is quoted in $ or €. Quoted in £ by Propeller so overall cost about the same taking into account their admin fee. I even had an email from Daniel, their Director, after hours answering a question.

Excited to be turning left to seat 1A on my JFK flights, (well actually 1K over and 1A back - 'POSH transatlantic when in F' my Aunt used to say, to avoid the sunny side). Happy days

She did. Hollywood to be precise. So yes POSH applies US to UK.
I've never forgotten the way she taught me to remember port and starboard - 'There's no red port left at the bar' - a policy she fully subscribed to!
So, for the direction of travel, port is left and has the red navigation light on the wing tip, and starboard is right and has the green navigation light.

Has anyone got the ARN-MIA run with a routing that doesn't involve an outbound 6hr+ overnight either LHR\LCY or at the first point of entry to the US (I have come up with either JFK or BOS)?

I'm looking at out July 12th, return 14th, or any other similar before the end of August.

If you want to include HEL in the routing, I think there is no alternative to have an overnight during the outbound, being it in HEL, LON or first point of entry to the US.
Without HEL should be possible to avoid it.

I've also had really great experiences with Propeller Travel. Was able to grab the £1100 AMS-CPT deal and use a GUF2 to upgrade it to F.

560TP and F to Cape Town for that price isn't too shabby.

Also, big thanks to HfP for the fare deal heads up.

I've got this fare (doing it next week) ARN-HEL-LHR-JFK all in 1 day then a 10 hour layover in NYC (and a switch of airports too)

Mine is ARN-HEL-LHR-JFK on day one so a night in NY. Don't think it is possible to get all the way to MIA in a single day. Can't find a routing on Matrix with the max stops allowed all in one day

Try AUH, pricing from £512 according to google flights, I assume it's still 560TP.

I've only good things to say about them as well. Once I was charged in USD, not sure why, but direct with BA so double Avios, the other time in GBP to Propeller so 1.5 Avios but no foreign transaction fees. Daniel's been here to explain it before I think.

They've sorted out my next 2 TATLs (first F after UuA ) and my HEL bonanza weekend in Jan -- trip reports coming up.

I always clarify before saying yes to their quote that the air fare is to be charged in GB£ by BA and the Propeller fee can be charged in whatever currency and by whichever merchant they want. Daniel is always very clear on responding to that.

As an O.T. the various Amex bonus offers of get 750/1500/3000 bonus avios, up to 3x, for spending £750/£1,500/£3,000 with BA/Avis/Marriott prior to 31 December are not triggered by spend with BA as billed by Propeller. They go through as “British Airways Atlas T London”, which do trigger 3x avios on a BAPP, but not the “spend £x to get x bonus avios”.

Last week I asked Daniel if a fare quoted in CAD could be charged in GBP. It could have been done but at a 3.5% increase in the cost.

That is correct.

I explained the logic previously. Depending on the route, availability and faring, if we can, we will quote in GBP for UK customers.
Most of the time, though, it will be in USD for any transatlantic journey, CAD for transatlantic to Canada. Personally, as you can imagine,
I would have loved to provide the service in GBP to UK customers always, without having to observe the card processing fee, and still
be able to qualify the purchase for you for triple Avios, etc (and avoid these conversations ... )

I always ask the agents to offer GBP as an option if asked, as long as the customer covers the card processing fee. At the end of the day
most rather pay the Amex fx fee for the triple Avios.

Some LHR-HEL 1 night stay returns are posting up for £296 in CE, availability in Jan-March + May.

Kicker is that some of those are turning up cheaper on Netflights - so a decent chance for a Best Price guarantee voucher if you're willing to take the risk over £10 (very dramatic I know, but every bang for your buck ). I did this last time and got a £50 voucher for a £20 difference with no fuss.

Or if you've got a £50 back on £200 spend offer on your Amex Gold it makes this a reasonably priced run.
