Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. Some information on how to use ITA matrix is in post #4 of this thread (or just click here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...
For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times
Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest along with UK domestic returns. Additionally you may find that trips in to mainland Europe require a one night stay whereas the cheapest domestic CE returns do not have any minimum stay so can be booked as a same day return. If doing a back to back AMS and JER can be easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround - more information can be found in the back to back thread listed in the forum dashboard. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.
If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). UK domestic route, Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seem the most cost effective for this.
Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here
Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post of this thread, MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.
Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports).
Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520.
DUB-LHR-HEL return (or return to LHR) is currently a very efficient way of hitting 200-240 TPs

Hi, This is 1C. You should have spoken up. Both of us were on TP runs, as I assume you were. 1D says he is not active in this board but does monitor it.
On my flight out to CTA on Monday I sat in 1D and the lady next to me was also on a TP run. Seems like you cannot get away from TP Runners.

Hi all,
Looks like I might be heading to MCO at some point in the future - what would be the best route to allow us to extract a few extra TP's from the trip? Normally I'd just fly direct from LGW-MCO, but happy to do a little detour as long as it doesn't add too much time (or cost!) I suppose even leaving ex-OSL or somewhere else ex-EU would add a few TP's and also potentially reduce the cost a bit?
Or is it better to fly across to somewhere like JFK and do an internal with AA or similar?
Thanks all!

Not the best deal ever but reasonable for anyone who is short of time to get the last few TPs for their year. During June (all I looked at) you can book a MAN-LHR-DUB-MAN for £297 giving you 120TP (£2.50/TPish). Leaving MAN at 4pm and land back just after 11pm too so not a huge time issue as well.

I also checked my car in early and headed for what I thought would be a BA lounge. How wrong I was. However it was eye-opening watching all the "bucket and spade" flyers lining up for their flights on each or the low cost carriers. It really is a different world out there.
I do hope our paths cross sometime in the future so we can have a chat about flying.

The DUB-MAN route is operated by the BA E190 as a new route from MAN this summer. I think it is only 1 or 2 days a week which makes the Friday a mini TP run special, well for a mere silver like myself 😁

I've been using the ITA Matrix search tool looking for cheap BA CE fares for TP run using whole month views but the results when filtering out all airlines to only show BA does not match BA's own sites results? Am I doing something wrong on ITA or is there a better site for searching whole month views on BA CE flights out there?
e.g: searching ita for June CHEAPEST came in £244 CE one way, the same date on BA shows £113?

Morning all,
My random musing, is it possible to do a run that clocks in 1500 TP our there about, what might it look like, and what's the damage likely to be? Or are such things better done over a number of runs? I'm wondering whether I'm feeling crazy enough to attempt such a thing when I inevitably fall to bronze summer next year (shy of some amazing QR fare/my job suddenly requires me to fly lots) and start prepping for it now...
I feel one should try one of these things at least once in their lives, if nothing else, to have an amusing sorry to tell in years to come

Posted this on another thread. Try and get on the once weekly positioning Chippy Fryer Embraer from MAN (it must be doing leisure flying from DUB later in the day) - 09.55 departure from MAN as it is selling business class for GBP100 one way (economy GBP33). Only in the summer and only on Sundays. Make sure it is a BA44XX rather than the very over-priced BA marketed EI flights.
Just booked it for my Qantas status earn whilst in Europe (and a DUB-LHR-MAN for EUR99).
