Should I just cancel and re-book?

Hi,
My LHR-GLA was cancelled yesterday. I had an option to go LCY-EDI at 1140 this morning but chose the MMB link then when selecting Choose Alternative Flight get the "Sorry we have encountered a problem". So, if I were to cancel this entire trip and re-book, the fact the flights would be more than I originally paid I guess I couldn't get compensation for this?

Also, how long will BA take to refund me. Is this something I need to keep badgering them about or is it fairly instant?

Is it worth risking flying short haul out of LHR today or should I go via LGW or even use Easyjet?

Thanks
ML

A refund will eventually turn up- just call in next week maybe - but they aren't especially quick!

easyjet from Gatwick wouldn't be a bad shout - by all accounts Gatwick is operating normally
