And it is a looooong way from the BA boarding gate, which was even more nightmarish. We were in F and stood in the premium boarding line. The agent manning the general line scanned all of them through first, leaving the premium line standing there for 15 minutes. When we finally got into the cattle pen that is the waiting room, there were no seats. It was nowhere near an F experience.
Nowhere near an F experience sums it up well, except I would also say nowhere near a business class experience also. The Turkish lounge isn't even in the same terminal as the BA gate. It is so crowded here that there are dozens of people sitting on the floor. It's godawful for someone who expected a true First class experience.

There is a nice Aspire lounge next to the BA gate, which used to accept Priority Pass, but no longer. Of course BA used to have an ok lounge here before the fire, but nothing now. They should at least pay the Aspire lounge to let in the few F pax that fly each night. It seems that is what LX does for their First class pax.

Hello. Has anyone been there lately? We are going there next month and wondering on the situation of the lounge. If it's the same we will consider getting the hotel for a few hours instead of cramping into the lounge.

Yes, I was there about 6 weeks ago. I’m not sure on your travel plans as you mention the possibility of a hotel, but for sure I wouldn’t spend much time in (any) lounge.

Someone mentioning the walk clearly hasn’t transferred through FRA. That being said, I was collected from the lounge and escorted through the security queues so I did not have to deal with them, and decanted into my seat on the aircraft. I thought this was very good service.

The Turkish Lounge is far from the worst lounge I’ve ever been to. There are food and drinks to keep you going, but yes the seating is tightly packed.

You were escorted? From check in? I flew in F again two weeks ago and got nothing. But I purposely arrived quite late as I preferred to enjoy the very nice lounge at the Intercontinental Nairobi instead of the TK lounge. Plus when you arrive late there are no queues.

I was offered an escort from check-in to the lounge, but declined this since I was travelling with some colleagues departing on EK so just went through with them. I did take up the offer of being picked up and escorted from the lounge and through the security scrums which was helpful, and it was ensured that I was deposited in my seat on the aircraft. The BA station manager may email you a day or so before your flight to introduce herself (very nice person indeed) and I met her at check-in where she sorted me out. Status may have helped here, being a GGL/CCR member travelling in F.

I think that was it. As a lowly Gold member I've never had such treatment when flying F.

Thank you for your answer. Our flight is after midnight. Straight from Safari, we shall arrive the airport approx 5-6 pm. There is an option of going to some famous steak house and then move to airport by 9-10 pm to get shower in the lounge before boarding (which would be a prefer option) or if not, we will skip the dinner and get the hotel for 4-5 hours instead. Convincing hubby to choose shower over steak might be a difficult task tho. Shame...

I assume the steakhouse is Carnivore which is a destination itself. Some years back they would barbecue all sorts of animals, but nowadays political correctness has limited the fare, i.e. no more zebra. Still it is a fun experience if you are really hungry. Hopefully they still serve succulent crocodile chops!

Otherwise the airport Crowne Plaza has half-day rooms. Maybe Four Points too. Both are fine, but the FP is the better hotel.

Note that the BA flight leaves around 11:30pm. Not after midnight.
