I think my point is that status is supposed to help the airline retain customers. If you offer a service to your F customers and then decide not to offer that service to your top tier card holders (and let's be clear we're talking about less than 1000 people world wide apparently), it seems petty.

Failing to offer it to Gold would be completely understandable - and even to non-CCR GGLs given the numbers, but that count of people daily it would affect would mean it's a cheap thing to offer to improve the perks of the status for those J CCR travellers.

It's up to BA of course.

But that kind of decision would be an accurate reflection of BA today. Petty. Driven by every penny rather than the impression it makes.

I don't particularly care whether BA would offer it or not - I'm a CCR this year, but won't be next one so any kind of service improvement won't help me.

And yes - I realise it's all hypothetical but the extension of this kind of benefit is important.

Frankly - for me - it's the same debate re: the IAD lounge dining. How many CCR holders pass through at any one time in that location? 1? 2? 4 if you allow for guests? Barring that many people from there simultaneously is petty.

I'm actually a little more confused about my access rights now that this issue has been clarified in the US! Can someone confirm whether CCR holders still get access to the CCBs in Singapore and Dubai, or whether this has changed recently in line with the new restrictions imposed in Washington and Boston? I note that, according to the CCR letter, access should not be allowed, but I've been very proactively invited to make use of these facilities when travelling through both of these outstations 2-3 months ago.

Am I right in thinking I'm still allowed access when not travelling in F, but that this is technically a discretionary permission that could be withdrawn at any time?

According to the "Conditions of Use":

2. The Concorde Room Card permits access to the Concorde lounge at LHR Terminal 5 and JFK only.

Yes, quite. But, when I've entered the BA lounge in Singapore, the lounge agents have clocked my GGL status on the system, inquired whether I had a CCR card, and then proceeded to invite me into the CCB. The last time this happened I was travelling in economy on Malaysia Airlines! I didn't take the time to explain that, technically, I didn't have access, but rather graciously accepted the invitation. My question was about whether this proactive and open approach to accessing the CCBs in SIN and DXB had changed since the new restrictions introduced recently in IAD and BOS. I ask only because I travel through SIN far more than through US outstations.

The operative word being 'lounge', whereby these are separate 'lounge' facilities adjacent to the Galleries lounge offerings. The CCR facilities at SIN and DXB however are not separately designated 'lounges'. Rather they are a space within the existing Galleries lounge.

BA should not, in my opinion be silent on the description of these spaces within their T&C's. Having said that I do not believe we should infer exclusion on that basis.

Moving on...can anyone recommend a good lounge review of the BA contract lounge at BWI?

I'm just the opposite ! The seats in the booths seem to have sagged through use and I end up feeling like a child at the table. So now I always sit on a high chair instead
