6+ years ago yes.

10+ years ago champagne was even a route/carrier booking criteria!

Now, not so much.

I did not drink at all until I started premium flying..

TG F served Dom, the first time I drank champagne. I was in my early thirties. The SQ F reward flight that served Dom and Krug.. nowadays it is still the only alcoholic drink I take, but no longer limited to flights., I don't fly enough in premium cabins..

Wish I had a job that would support flying premium more...

It's actually the one drink that I never partake in, in a lounge or on board. And that's coming from someone who never travels sober!

Nope. I will have one in the lounge and the welcome drink on board. After that I switch to a G&T and/or water.

Depends on the champagne - generally a few in the lounge - 1 (or 2) on boarding depending how quick I drink it and how generous the crew are feeling and maybe 1 or 2 after take off maximum but then switch to Wine / G&T or camemile tea depending on the time of the flight !

Currently sitting in the lounge at LAX considering my strategy for this evenings flight

Am I alone in being confused by the ambiguity of the question? If it's "who drinks nothing but champagne when in a BA lounge/aircraft?" then I'm a yes ~95% of the time; but if it's "who doesn't drink champagne unless in a BA lounge/aircraft?" then I'm a no.

In the lounge -- yes, in a mimosa with breakfast. Then I head for the JD Blue (hey don't judge) in the first lounge

Can't stand the stuff. Fizzy grape juice that just happens to come from a certain part of France?

I'd rather have a beer or a nice coffee.

Hmm, good question....

We do drink Champagne on terra firma but usually in the context of a celebration and we always have a bottle or two of Pol Roger on stand-by for 'emergencies'. I'm not counting the use of other sparkling wine used in things like Aperol Spritz or other mixes that we might have if at a barbeque etc.

When travelling it is often the case that we are celebrating going on holiday, off to see family or friends, or coming back from some dump such a JED or LOS so it is quite nice to have a glass of proper Champagne in the lounge (where available) or on board. But I'll probably stick to a decent red by choice, and if there is a really good one on the go then I'll probably drink more than normal

I think it depends on the mood really but I think I've got over the stage of trying to recoup the airfare by drinking to excess or drinking too much just because it is 'free'.

When i first started flying i did. I dont drink any alcohol onboard anymore though, if you are flying often you cant keep doing it without negative effects.
