** AA Domestic First on two cabin will earn business TPs and avios for departures on or after 11 January 2017 - see reference posts for more details **

Need a year-end TP run (ex-LON) to make / retain status?
Some tips for searching for the year-end TP run for newcomers, the below is indicative only, but hopefully provides a bit of guidance for relatively straightforward runs ex-LON. The guide to using ITA matrix in post #4 (see here) along with these ideas, might come in handy. Feel free to share results, problems or general questions in the thread as these may not always work and there might be better deals out there...

For overnight trips remember to check BA and Iberia for their flights and hotel option as well, can get hotel for almost no extra cost at times

Need 80 TPs or fewer
Club Europe return somewhere close by is best - DUB, AMS and JER usually cheapest. AMS and JER easier than DUB for an immediate turnaround. The BA.com low fare finder can be very useful.

If you need as few as 45 TPs you might consider booking economy flights and hoping for a proactive online upgrade offer - but they're not guaranteed to materialise (so not one if you have no more time left in your TP collection year). Alternatively, booking a return to one of the 40 tier point destinations with one way in CE and the return in ET (or vice versa if cheaper). Bilbao, Jersey and Amsterdam seems the most cost effective for this.

Need 85-120 TPs
Iberia flights via MAD to regional Spanish airports will get you 120 TPs as the domestic Spanish flights are 20 TPs in business. Under £300 including hotel can be available. Check BIO, GRX, VLC, BCN, SVQ etc. Example here

Need 125-160 TPs
Take a look at the shorthaul plus routes earning 80 TPs each way in business listed in the first post (here) MLA, IST, HEL and RAK are usually available. If time sensitive take a look at BA flight and hotel option to HEL, where you can usually get the last BA flight out on a Saturday, airport hotel and first return Sunday for well under £500.

Alternative options include positioning to JER and flying JER-LGW-XXX (AMS usually works well and avoids switching airports)

Need more than 160 TPs
You'll most likely be heading north then - OSL or VNO via HEL will get you 240 TPs, as will JER-LGW/LHR-HEL e.g. LHR-HEL-OSL for £520. Also the BA fare for LHR-HEL-TLL at ~£235 is still available and would get 200 TPs for a return.

Pretty flexible as long as I'm in LA on that weekend. Ideal departure would be around 17th. I know I can still get the MAN-SAT fare but once I factor in SAT-LAX return in business class the total price becomes less of a bargain. Plus the flight times / connection times with SAT-LAX are not ideal especially if I end up in Vegas.
I think the problem is the dates. AA have placed date restrictions which are PERMITTED 01JUL THROUGH 31AUG OR 22NOV THROUGH 29NOV OR
24DEC THROUGH 31DEC OR 05APR THROUGH 15APR FOR EACH
TRANSATLANTIC SECTOR.

Might appeal to anyone who wants 720TPs rather than to spend time in the Arizona outdoors.
What is the actual routing on that option?

MAN-SAT extended again.

Category 15: Sales restrictions
TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/BEFORE 25APR 17.

Apologies, please ignore above. I was getting £12xx for MAN-JFK-LAX-SAT-LAX-JFK-MAN across June and July at around 12.30pm (UK time) today. I copied and pasted the above from the fare rules. Prices have shot up this afternoon. I wish I'd taken a screenshot. Perhaps it will return tomorrow?

Cannot seem to get fare basis now. All fares coming in at £2k+. Even though I available on transatlantics. Was getting £906 previously routing MAN/HEL/ORD/DFW

I've done some testing in September and so far I'm only seeing Matrix offer ILN7B4T1 on the outbound legs, whereas the inbound are pricing as INN8S4C1 at a premium of £1100. Interestingly EF doesn't even offer ILN7B4T1 when searching for a return fare, with All Dates ticked and Validate Fares unticked.

Hi,

I booked OTP - LHR - JFK - LAX - PHX return. 800TPs at a cost of £1,276 booked with BA over the phone. Both Transatlantic flights are on BA metal but would only price using AA code shares. Adding in HEL was an option for a bit more money and TPs but flying LHR - JFK direct rather than LHR - HEL - JFK suited me better. Definitely not the best £ per TP but not too bad. ITA suggested a lower price (£1,110 I think) but the price increases when going through to book on AA. Price was £80 cheaper than AA, so issued on 125 stock.

70 TP run in early June

Hi - I'm a complete rookie with any TP runs / have never done any, but would like to keep my status this year, for which I need 70 TP by early June. I've tried to find something using a few of the tips but couldn't really figure it out. Maybe someone has a spontaneous idea to help me

Leaving from any London airport. The only weekend I can go is June 2-4 and I'd like to go somewhere for 1-2 nights (i.e. leave late Friday get back late Sunday or leave Saturday morning get back Sunday, or even Monday morning is fine), ideally a sunny location but pretty flexible. Don't mind a connecting flight. Number 1 criterion is price though and I'd be willing to take less favourable conditions if that gets me to a price below 200£

Any ideas very welcome

marlow11 welcome to FlyerTalk and in particular to the BA branch. I'm sure one of our resident TP gurus will be along shortly but in the meantime have a look at https://www.britishairways.com/trave.../public/en_gb# and choose Business Class/Club Europe - you should be able to find something close to your budgest - perhaps a little higher. A return CE trip will earn you 80 TPs, so 10 to spare.

Please stick around, some of us are really nice people ...

Welcome to FT, marlow11! No doubt there'll be an Ambassador along shortly with the formal welcome, but I hope you make yourself at home in the meantime!

As regards your question, given your dates is my immediate thought would be LGW-JER. This is available in Business (earning 80TP return) for £223.

Another possibility is the current board TP favourite, LHR-HEL-TLL. This earns 200TP for £233. However, availability is scant at the moment... the closest I could get to your dates for this route would require a 3 night stay, travelling out on Friday 2nd (7:30am) and back on Monday 5th April.

Google Flights is really useful for your case

https://www.google.com/flights/?curr...c=b;a=ONEWORLD

LGW-LUX leaving Friday night, coming back Sunday night, at 172GBP. Earns 40TP each way so 80 TP if my memory serves to be correct.

Luxembourg is an inexpensive option. On those dates it's coming in at £172 in Club Europe, for 80 TPs.

EDIT: Just beaten to it!

Another edit: You can also fly out Saturday evening and back on Sunday evening for the same price. Luxembourg is undoubtedly a very appealing place, but a day there is probably enough as it's tiny.

At least we're on the same frequency!

If you want a early Sun morn arrival back into the UK, BOD appears to be very competitive too at 212GBP!

Need some help for my OH. 185 TP's from renewing gold for the year. Year runs out 8th May. Based in Edinburgh and have from the 2nd-7th of May to try and get. Obviously as cheap as possible. If it helps with a holiday I may tag along also. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tried all the obvious options and all pretty pricey. Thanks
