However, they do serve up a pizza slice on the loooong DXB-BNE service before the breakfast whichi is also miles better than BA's dog ear of a breakfast.
More importantly, they have the snack basket in EK Y which BA is withdrawing. ^
I'm really warming up to EK after flying them a few times and already one flight from EK gold tier.

I really enjoyed AA Westbound in J yesterday to JFK. Lovely lunch including the Sundae then there were fruit salads and crisps and chocolate in the galley and before landing a Croque Monsieur was served.
I know it's all JV on the TATL but I very much doubt I'll fly BA again Westbound unless I'm in F or on the BabyBus. AA wipe the floor with BA IMHO

I regularly fly SFO and the last 12 months the Virgin/Delta partnership has been coming in 50% less than BA on most occasions.
Add in the significant difference in service, for example my last SFO flight with Virgin we were served a main meal, a Ginsters steak slice as a snack, mini ice-cream as another snack, crew went through the cabin twice with other snacks, then a final smaller sandwich and cake an hour or so out.
In addition to this, crew went through the cabin several times with juice and water.
Compared to BA on my last SFO flight, where we had one main meal, then a nasty criossant and little cup of juice an hour out (with crew nowhere to be seen inbetween) not great value at £2000.
Such a shame as I have (and continue) to come across great crew on BA flights but the beancounters are now starting to let them down and this is now starting to become apparent to customers.

BA TO CUT FOOD SERVICE TO PASSENGERS
By Thomas Hornall, Press Association
British Airways has cut its food service and will no longer provide two meals
to economy travellers on flights under eight and a half hours.
The apparent cost-cutting measures also apply to journeys of less than seven
hours for premium economy passengers.
The reduced menu was introduced last month and came after reports the airline
was going to charge for its meals.
Instead of two full meals passengers will get only one and might have to make
do with snacks if they get hungrier later in the flight. The choices of alcohol
and complimentary snacks will not be affected, a BA spokesman said.
Many flights from the UK to the east coast of America, including New York, take
between seven and eight hours while the journey to Toronto and Montreal in
Canada is around seven hours.
Spaniard Alex Cruz, 50, took over as CEO and chairman of BA in April this year,
having started his career with American Airlines 1995.
British Airways reported total profits after tax of #2.5 billion for the year
ending December 2015, while parent company International Airlines Group saw a
65% rise in annual profits this year.
A BA spokesman said: "We offer customers on all of our transatlantic flights a
three course meal, bar service and snacks and on our longer transatlantic
flights, including to the west coast, customers are offered an extra meal during
the flight.
"We regularly review our catering to ensure we are investing where it matters
most to our customers."

I'll have a "pleasure" or going to the East Coast in WT next month due to company travel policy. Definitely not looking forward to it (still contemplating booking on AA instead and hoping for the award space will open up and I can SWU into business)...

And don't hesitate to write to BA and to make sure you refuse to take the mars bar on your next flight. This is just appalling penny pinching from an airline making millions of benefits.

"We have reviewed customer feedback about the new fun-sized mars bar option on our transatlantic services, and have decided to remove this feature entirely due to lack of customer take-up".
Damned if you do, damned if you don't....

Just keep in mind if it's a BA ticket and AA-operated, by policy you cannot use the SWU. Sometimes, the airport might allow it.
