I know it's poor use of Avios, but I used 24,000 to bring price down to £230. With the 30,000 return and the 4,000 to position to DUB it nets even as the run is purely to get the 200TPs.

Oh, and Welcome to the BA Board darloscott

Hello. I've got GUF that I'm struggling to use to get into F (a decent base price plus availability seem mutually exclusive), so Plan B is to get a low WTP fare and use the GUF to get a Biz seat. So I'm on the lookout for any good WTP fares that would be worth while using this for (i.e. a TATL or Asia route). Would need to be something that would work for a long weekend (thurs to sun) but other than that open to suggestions. Did you at the Dubai fares, but have been there before, not sure I'd like to go again. Based in GLA, but can position with Avios. Any ideas gratefully received.

Thanks! Long time lurker but never posted. Don't get to fly much but like to maximise what opportunities I do get :)

Thanks for pointing this one out! Me and a mate are having a few days in Dubai... DUB-LHR-DXB-LHR-NCL for £417 in WTP. 210TP's and triple Avios makes for a decent price!

Welcome darloscott. Not enough people from our part of the world on the BA board.

In the particular case of the JFK trip quoted, I would happily pay £8 London Bridge - Gatwick plus £17.50 RFS LGW-JER + £9 coach fare home = £34.50 for a saving of at least £125... but then, I value my non-billable time at zero and have no wife of kids wondering where I am :D

Some of the flights i'm pricing up have the first segment (GLA/JER/DUB-LON) booking into Economy, some into Business. Is this just pot luck?

OK after several days of faffing about I have booked a quick WT+ trip
2/3 - 8/3 Routing LCY-DUB-LHR-AUH DXB-LHR

Managed to get the 787 both ways and both flights are daytime so I am hoping that the WT+ 787 experience will be good, cost 452 Euro (approx £390)

Interesting for some:

CX PE from LHR to SYD.

Approx £501 for BRU-JFK in WTP.

Thread also briefly mentions £735 (850Euro) for ORY-LAX-ORY.

Both of those are still cheaper from GOT though, for those that would do an ex-EU from London, but obviously starting points are different for everybody!

I'm looking at a similar routing - presumably the LCY-DUB is on a separate ticket!?

How much time did you decide to leave between your LCY-DUB and your DUB-LHR in case of IRROPS? I've taken a look at the back-to-back thread and it still seems pretty safe to do in DUB.

Not available for Oct half term, otherwise I'd have been all over this. Great fare. ^

Already mentioned in dispatches, but JER>LGW/LHR>NYC>LHR is also pricing up at £502 (like BRU). Easier to do a JER b2b and stop your trip at LHR on the way back for the same price in my opinion (plus extra TP's with JER>LGW booking into J class.

Yes the LCY is a separate ticket and I screwed that up with only 90 mins to connect !!

I have now booked an STN-DUB to position and I will cancel the LCY, details of my screwup are in the DUB positioning thread http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...thread-98.html

How are you pricing up these ex-JERs? I can get them on Google Flights, but when I click through to BA or American to book, I get an error. Pricing on the multi-city tool on BA gives me something upwards of £1k...

Ah ok thanks for the heads up - looks like back to backs are not without risk either given the construction. Good luck with the trip!
