Again, thanks to Dylanks great to have all this stuff in one place and somewhere to post experiences / datapoints.
I got GGL last Summer, for first time and DID get the welcome call (kind of feel privileged now ). GGL line called my office in London, told all about the published bennies incl Hilton.
All I can suggest is maybe its a new(ish) enhancement from the GGL line people?

Great resource dylanks! and thanks for the effort! I didn't even realise there was a US number
Chalk up another nay for getting a call - not on the first time nor on renewal.

Made some updates:
- Changed phone call to something that most people have not received
- Clarified explanation of miles to qualify
- Fixed a few other minor things
- Made the route map image smaller so the post looks better on the iPhone

GGL Redemption/Jokers
The GGL redemption (otherwise known lovingly on FT as the 'joker') makes it possible to create redemption space where none existed subject to the criteria noted above. Once this space is created it can be used just like any other redemption space. For example, it can be booked in full with Avios or by upgrading a revenue ticket. In addition, it can be used with a GUF1 or GUF2 and/or with any of the two for one options such as the AMEX 2-4-1 or the Chase Travel Together coupon.
However, I thought you can't combine jokers with GUFs any more...
Also, you can definitely transfer Avios to anybody for free.

Thanks for creating this.
I joined the GGL ranks in October 2015 for the first time. (No phone call btw)
The jokers are absolutely marvellous.

Nice job dylanks! ^
No doubt newly minted GGLs and probably some oldies will find the information very useful.
To be pedantic, the benefit allowing an extra guest is a GGL benefit. That may be misread in the guide as it appears under the "CCR Card" title. As a GGL you can bring two guests into the CCR if you are flying First regardless of whether you are in possession of a CCR card, if you are not flying First and are in possession of a CCR card you can take in one guest. As a GGL you are allowed two guests into all BA operated departure lounges (First and Business) and 1 guest into the arrivals lounge (a Gold is not entitled to a guest in the arrivals lounge).
Thank you for your efforts!

Also I didn't think of it before because we all take it for granted that everyone knows, but based on some occasional questions in the past, obviously, one also needs at least 4 BA segments!
Superb!

I thought (rightly or wrongly) that avios can only be transferred (for free indeed) to people on your friends and family list.

Transferring Avios
You can also top-up another Member’s account, when they live at a different address from you, by transferring Avios to them. That way, they can enjoy their next reward* flight sooner.
There are two ways you can transfer Avios to other Executive Club Member:
you can transfer up to 162,000 Avios free of charge and
you can pay to transfer up to 162,000 Avios.
This gives you a total of 324,000 Avios which you can transfer each calendar year.
How it works
You can transfer a maximum of 54,000 Avios to an individual Member in one calendar year – up to 27,000 Avios using free transfer and up to 27,000 Avios by paying to transfer.
Make sure you save the Executive Club number for people on your Family and Friends list, which will make transferring Avios to them easier.
You will need to know the full name, email address and Executive Club number for other Members who you transfer Avios to.
The Member receiving Avios needs to have a balance of one or more Avios in their account.
Avios can only be transferred online and in multiples of 1,000** with a maximum amount per transaction of 27,000 Avios.
Avios are transferred immediately and can be used right away.
When paying to transfer, you will be charged a non-refundable fee, dependent on the number of Avios transferred.
You must be over 18 years old to transfer Avios.

Thanks for the great feedback, again! I've made some more updates:
- Added some additional images from Propsero!
- Made the map image larger again based on feedback from GentleGiant
- Clarified qualification example means longhaul flights (thanks orbitmic
- Clarified that GGL provides the benefit of an extra guest in BA operated lounges, not just CCR card. Thanks economyman (and if we're not pedantic here, then people will just ask)
- Added details from Tobias-UK about transferring avios (and made me wonder how many under-18 GGL members there are!)
- Changed the language again about the introductory call based on further feedback from Discovery Bay
- Did not change anything about how jokers can be combined with GUF

Another benefit of GGL is that you receive the Special Services treatment on arrival and departure from Dubai. Provided by Marhaba. Meet and greet, including golf buggy transfer, immigration assistance (fast track), porter assistance etc.

Question regarding the million $ door at T5. If you have a CCR card, will they allow you and your family (I.e. Probably more than your lounge entitlement) through the door and then visit the correct lounges that your party is entitled to once you are through?
