I was looking at some of my ticket information for a viking trip using FLY, it came up with 'PASSENGER KNEW FARE WAS SOLD UNDER ERROR' on the notes

Ooops! I hope that didn't come up as a High Priority Message and needed to be cleared down at the gate, I just imagine the interesting discussion that would result. It actually just sounds like a general retrieval of the PNR notes.

You have already answered the question for yourself It was indeed just the PNR notes as I needed to see if the ticket had been reissued after the UUA.

Definitely not a High Priority Message!

It's not like I had a very high one in the first place

Not BA staff but I work with an airport currently using FLY. I don't have access to FLY, it was more of a 'let me see what all the fuss is about' type thing when I was talking to the ladies who work at the desks.

I have another Viking coming up and want to make sure the issues i experienced a couple of months back do not repeat themselves (more here). At the time there were multiple issues and 1 of them, if I recall, was that BGO/SVG was on FLY whilst LHR was not. Is it now possible to check-in remotely from LHR for a flight departing from SVG using FLY at LHR?

I am wondering, did you have a phone call/trying to upgrade, where you mentioned you knew this was an error, or was it just automatically added to all Vikings?

You can collect boarding passes from the gate at SVG, they have the same equipment and the same staff at both check-in and gate. SVG staff are fully aware of Vikings and Norway Point of Sales, and are keen to encourage it on a route which is otherwise oil dependent. I think that LHR will be fully FLY by mid July (?) but I'd imagine SVG and BGO will be quite soon, I imagine they are keeping EDI and JFK to last. There is quite a bit of FLY in T5 now, but not all agents may be that experienced with it, and I suspect we will need to wait a few weeks / months before they are.

I see they've got rid of the 'who next?' page:

http://www.britishairways.com/en-es/...in/new-systems

Presumably that's an indicator that the outstations are done?

I am under the impression that there is a note in all Viking PNR's with the same text. If you were checking in/at the gate, the agent would be unaware. It's only when you manually pull up the PNR notes that it shows the information.

There's always people who don't get marked, like the few who travelled on the SYD mistake fares and managed to not get cancelled.

computer says no

I'm booked on the 18:45 departure to Dublin ... I went to the gate of the 17:20 flight at about 16:55 and asked if there was any possibility of getting on it.

Apparently they couldn't do anything as checkin had closed.

A few years ago I managed to get my JFK flight changed (as boarding was closing).

So was the checkin agent lying, or have things changed (and is it FLY related) ?

They can do it at LHR - last week I was seeking to check in for a (separate PNR) FRA-LHR flight and whilst those at F check in point blank refused, the nice man at the Galleries First customer services desk was able to log into Fly and print my boarding card no problem.
