First Time BA Club World Passenger at JFK Help!

I am flying BA out of JFK to LHR next week. I am flying domestic with AA out of SFO which I believe arrives in Terminal 8 of JFK and I know BA is in terminal 7.

My flight arrives early at 7 Am and the flight on BA to LHR don't leave until 11pm at night. I would like to go into NYC for the day but I do have 3 pieces of luggage, can some of you seasoned fliers advise me what to do?

1. How do I get from AA Domestic to BA International at JFK?

2. Will it be possible to check my luggage through to the BA flight in SFO? Will AA be willing to do that?

3. If not, I will have 3 pieces of luggage with me early in the morning, being club world, will BA be willing to take my luggage early or if the lounge be willing to "watch " my luggage for me for a few hours?

I would really appreciate some help!

BA Club world from JFK to LHR

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

1. I get in very early to JFK and my BA flight will not leave until 11PM. Will I be able to leave my luggage at the Club World Lounge?

2. What is the best way to get from Terminal 8 to Terminal 7?

Terminal 8 to Terminal 7 is easy, get the train.

Get to Terminal 7 - check your bags, and then clear off to NYC for the day.

I think that should work.

You can get to NYC on the train for little money, or get a fixed fare taxi.

From the first post:

2. Yes, aa should check your luggage through even if the BA flight is on a separate ticket. You shouldn't have to pick up your bag at jfk.

From the second post:

1. The BA lounge is airside at t7 so until you go through security you can't access it.

2. Airtrain, take an inter-terminal one which will be one stop, don't take a howards beach or Jamaica one as they go the other way.

Actually, with a greater than 12 hour connection, AA most likely won't check through to BA. He can ask, but it usually is a computer says no kind of thing.

If you are unable to check your bags through, there is a luggage storage facility (paid) in JFK Terminal 4 Arrivals landside, you could take the Airtrain round from T8, store your bags and then pick them up on the way back to T7 from the city in the evening.

Thanks so much for the help.

Is there any chance BA lets me check in my club world flight at 11pm in the AM?

It doesn’t take more than 5 minutes. I hope I did not bother with this request! All the best!

Please don't bump your own thread.

People aren't looking at FT all the time so you need to wait for an answer.

Yes, but the CW desks are closed at that time. Go to the WT/WT+ desks around the corner.

If push comes to shove, there's plenty of cheap left luggage places Downtown, near Penn Station amongst others - they're pretty much all $10 per bag, so provided you don't mind carrying them to and from the airport that might be less hassle and cheaper than taking them to a different airport terminal and storing them there. I guess that probably depends on just how big and transportable your luggage is ...

There's one at T8 too, I've used it when I didn't want to take all my luggage on part of a TP run
