e-ticket number not showing?
Hi all,
I just changed a J redemption to an F redemption via the call centre.
I notice now on MMB it now says:
0 stops, 11 hrs 40 mins, First, Confirmed
Shouldn't I be able to see an e-ticketnumber somewhere too and should I call back the call centre to check?
I don't really want to get to the airport to find out that the change wasn't done properly and I don't have a seat.
Thanks.

In that case expect a few weeks before the eTicket is reissued. Do call them if you wish your seat to be assigned in the meantime.

Do you have a frequent flyer membership tier that allows you to pre-allocate seats for free? If so, then that normally doesn't require waiting for ticket re-issue (which is critical if you have to pay for seat allocation). Tobias-UK's advice covers the possibility that a glitch occurs in relation to that.

But isn't seat allocation in First free anyway, regardless of tier?

Weirdest thing was I transferred the requisite MRs into Avios yesterday, but they hadn't yet shown online. In spite of this the call centre guy still processed the request and it still showed up immediately as F on MMB...

The e-ticket number does not show in MMB, it requires to print/e-mail the e-ticket receipt. Best way for you is to use classic.checkmytrip.com and you will see your e-ticket number or if the ticketing is still pending. Seat selection also visible there.

The seats have green ticks next to them.

When an itinerary says "RESERVATION CONFIRMED" (or equivalent) it means that you presently have a confirmed reservation on the flight, and it says "confirmed" to emphasise this is not a wait listed reservation.
This will show up in MMB online and on classic.checkmytrip.com.
It does not mean you have an e-ticket yet.
Seating requires a flight reservation, not an e-ticket. (Although, taking an additional payment from you, to pay for a seat, does require an existing ticket for that payment to sit on.)
The process for re-issuing the ticket and taking payment may take a bit of time unfortunately. Re-issuing tickets is done by hand by the back office, for some reason. Hence it will take a week or two. Your BA metal reservation is not endangered under normal circumstances while this is processed, but it is a good idea to keep an eye on it.
