This happened to me a while back, so I completed the booking without selecting a seat and then, once the booking had been made, I went in to MMB and could select a seat without paying.

I have also noticed that when making a booking row 1 in F is not available to me as a GCH, but it is OK if I then go back to the booking in MMB.

This sounds like the same bug that occured a month or two ago (sorry I can't find the thread atm). Basically when booking ba.com would try and charge a seat selection fee even when you were signed in to your BAEC account at the time, but if you went in MMB afterwards seat selection was free.

Gold member and website asking me to pay for Club seats. System error?
Yesterday I was trying to book two of us into Euro Traveller on a short haul flight. My friend is a new member of the BAEC. As a Gold member I thought we could both sit together free. The website was asking me to pay £15 for him for a seat, while my selection was free. No booking was completed.
Today the situation has worsened: I am being asked to pay £22 for a Club Europe seat on a speculative flight to GRX.
I am a current Gold member and have been so for ages.
What's going on?

This bug was noted the other day in another thread. Just book without selecting a seat and select as normal with MMB.

When booking a flight just now I had the same - I hadn't seen that for a few months. I simply booked and then went into MMB to get my seat.
Not that there were any decent ones left anyways. Gotta love being >row 20 on an A3xx.
