Cheaper to do CDG-BKK on QR (albeit with a layover in Doha for 90mins).

The connection would be a deal-breaker for me.

At least one of my usual destinations (JNB) is significantly cheaper from AMS than DUB. Plus AMS turnarounds seem to be much easier.

Interesting. I quite like the break at DOH, and plus the bar area to stretch your legs/liver on both legs of the CDG-DOH-BKK flight makes it very appealing to me.

Just booked AMS-LHR-KUL-BKK and back BKK-LHR-AMS for 1500 E per person. (april) The extra flight KUL-BKK gives us enough TP to get a Gold card. We live a short 2 hours drive from AMS and the price difference with BRU was 500 E per person.Very happy with my booking. So finally Mr and Miss scubadave will be Gold.

If I'm correct, KUL-BKK is I class on MH metal and would be ineligible for tier points. Can anyone confirm this?
If that is the case, the routing does allow LHR-HKG-BKK with HKG-BKK on CX so you might want to change to that for 40 TPs.

exCPH sale seems to match exDUB fares.

Unfortunately correct. Only J, C, D and Z earn on MH.

Did not know that , but because the flight to KUL gives 160 TP that will be enough

You might still earn even though the table says you won't

Ex-EU to China in WT+ returning to LHR

Flying WT+ to China from BGO returning to LHR is £220 less than starting from LHR: £140 saving on APD and £50 saving on YQ (using the TLNCSALE and TLAPUK9 fares, both to be ticketed by 2 Feb). Returning to BGO the base fare would similar as there is currently not a lot of difference between base T fares from EU starting points. But oddly returning to BGO in this direction would increase the YQ and the total cost (so no incentive to buy a fare where you might drop the last segment!). I have come across this sort of inconsistency in YQ before, which demonstrates that in reality YQ is a fare component, not a fuel surcharge!

The total cost of a WT O fare to China from BGO returning to LHR is £175 less than starting from LHR for similar reasons.
