Quick status question

Sorry in the pub and my mind is not working right!

Trying to recommend to a friend if he should bother with a convoluted route.

If I'm a blue with a year end of June 8th 2015, I get enough TPs for silver by June 15th 2015, what would the date be when my silver status expired assuming sub 600 TPs come July 9th 2016?

8 June 2017 although the card and benefits will run to the end of July 2017. I answered a very similar question like this earlier today albeit for gold qualification, didn't you read it?

Are you saying enough TPs gathered between 9th and 15th, or you want to ask BA for the 2 week extension to get the TPs (I.e. June 9th 2014 to June 15th 2015)

Thanks all. Thought it would in effect be two years but my beer addled brain kept on doubting myself. Thinks it's probably worth him putting himself out the once for in effect two years worth of benefits

It's a bit of a cocked-up post and yes you clearly must be in the pub Cap'n Benj

First of all, I think Cap'n Benj must have meant to refer at the end of the OP to June 9th 2016 not July 9th 2016. July 9th 2016 has no relevance for the member in question.

If that's true, Cap'n Benj must be implying asking for the 2 week TP extension as otherwise there's a contradiction in the last statement of not being able to reach Silver re-qualification by June 9th 2016 because sufficient TPs will have been earned between June 9th and June 15th 2015 to re-qualify for Silver for the year that ends June 8th 2016.

And if all that's true, can someone tell me why you're all saying Cap'n Benj's friend will retain Silver benefits through to 2017???

As far as I can tell, the 2 week extension would be granted, qualification would occur in the year to end June 8th 2015 and the member would be silver for the rest of that year (0 days) and all the following year until 31st July 2016.

If, on the other hand, Cap'n Benj did mean that sufficient TPs were earned in the short period between 9th June 2015 and 15th June 2015 then the words "assuming sub 600 TPs come July 9th 2016" don't make any sense to me.

Arghhh. Does not compute. Does not compute.....

Aw baws, I'm mega confused now, the two week extension should not be required, I may have not been right with the exact dates

What I mean is you get silver a week into your new year, therefore you're silver, do you then in effect have two years as silver, or are you only silver until the same week next year?

The question contains a lot of superfluous info.

I'm slightly concerned by the way that it reads that silver status might be obtained as a result of flights that take place in the current TP year.

Briefly: 600 TP from 9 June 2014 - 8 June 2015 (or as extended) = silver until 31 July 2016.
600 TP from 9 June 2015 - 15 June (or any date to 8 June 2016) = silver until 31 July 2017.
