Status match to BA or OW from A3 Gold?
Hi,
I hope someone can help me here.
I have a Gold status at A3 and I have registered at BA Executive Club and having a Blue status with only two segments this year.
I have just booked a 4 segment return flight to US from BUD on business for this December on British Airways. BA has upgraded me for one segment (LAX-LHR) to First. As far as I see after these flights I will be Bronze at BA.
What do you think, would be any other OW airline that would be better than BA to register this trip, if so which one. And, shall I try to ask BA to match my current *A status, before my flight in December? Or shall I ask other OW FT programme for Status Match? If so, with which one? Anyone has any experience?
Thanks for your help, I really appreciate.

Look & ask here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...help-here.html
OneWorld airlines do generally do not status match. However there are some reports if Air Berlin matching (but then you are in the AB ffp )

If you're in business class there is little need for status (bar the bonus miles, which you would only get with AA or BA programs on your route anyway), so I would just put the points into BA and hope a second similar trip will get you to Silver.
If its a one off trip this year, the AB route may get you into a nicer lounge on on your LHR-LAX sector, so may be worth it for that alone, otherwise, if you're likely to use OW again, based at LAX, it may be best to stick the miles in an AA account.

As to which program to credit your flights to, I would look here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...help-here.html
BAEC has its pros and cons. If you are based in Europe then it is quite good for shorthaul redemptions on BA or its partners (AB/HG, AY, EI, IB) and if you mainly travel in premium cabins then it is among the quickest to earn lounge access.
Also I would suggest you read the forum rules, specifically around cross posting: http://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules.php#crossposting
You have posted this question 5 times.

Together with Aegean Gold, that kind of suggests you are good at sniffing out the bargain routes into frequent-flyer programmes.
Nothing at all wrong with that! Just that A3 status is unlikely to impress BA.
Your flights with BA will put you well on the way to Silver, which gets you a very significant share of Gold benefits. If you don't intend flying so much with BA then it's probably best to look elsewhere among Oneworld members.

Used to be the loveliest FFP even in dying (rather useless for actually USING them)
They had regular status matches for flying 1 (or was it 2?) legs with them. Any gold card got you MA Gold (OWS). Then both KL and LH was running a local status match campaign, so that matched MA Gold got you KL Plat and LH SEN. After dying, a number of OW airlines (not BA) offered status matches, so it got e.g. AY Gold. Quite good for flying them one return.

Sounds like a question for the AB forum.
There are a number of threads discussing status matching, including:
