Fare found on ITA Matrix, not on ba.com REUTS14

Hi:

ITA Matrix is showing a DUB/LHR/NRT fare of £2219.13 in booking classes J and R (using a fare code of REUTS14). See below.

Unable to find this on ba.com (which is booking the LHR/NRT sectors in C).

Any ideas?

DETAILS: Dublin/Tokyo
From http://matrix.itasoftware.com

Apart from the F upgrade from R, doesn't seem like a great fare...

Have you tried phoning BA? I often find that certainly with more complex itineraries that ba.com can't cope or won't show all options, but the call centre can usually enter the selling classes manually and come up with the same pricing.

I'm seeing R0 on the outbound LHR-NRT flight via KVStool.

Have you checked that there is actually R availability on those flights via EF or similar?

Matrix is not infallible as far as availability goes.

EDIT: FlightStats shows F7 A5 J8 C4 W1 Y9 B9 H9 K4 i.e. there isn't any R availability, which is why even though a valid fare might exist, you can't book on that date.

With a UK POS I see R1 outbound.

KVS and FlightStats uses a US POS which for BA flights ex-UK I've often noticed closes out lower fare buckets earlier than UK POS.

However if booking on BA.com it would use a IE POS which may be different again. Calling BA UK would be UK POS.

Thanks. I see the same from KVS, but wondered if I was missing a trick somewhere! I'm having a great deal of false positives with ITA Matrix at the moment. It's showing a bunch of I availability on LHR/DOH and DOH/ICN which doesn't appear to exist anywhere else...

Can you provide sample dates?

As I've said, KVS only shows US POS which may be quite different to UK or other POS.

I was asking for LHR/DOH and DOH/ICN as per the quoted text. ITA Matrix and Flightstats may well conflict due to POS issues as has been discussed. ITA Matrix defaults to the origin airport for POS.

I've already posted the UK POS availability for the outbound, inbound was showing R9.

A half-way upgrade fare does not appear to be filed (publicly) for this route.

The price is not terrible, if we assume mccorry cannot stay a Saturday night.

BA5 is still showing R1 if sold in Europe. The I bucket has been closed to waitlisting, as has E and T.

R0 from USA.

Sorry for the delay. Yes, this seems to be a clear problem. Just now, ITA Matrix shows:

London (LHR) to Seoul (ICN) - Sun, Oct 12 Hide Details
Qatar Airways(Q.C.S.C) London (LHR) to Doha (DOH) - Sun, Oct 12
Qatar Airways(Q.C.S.C) 4 Dep: 3:05pm Arr: 11:50pm 6h 45m Airbus A380 Business (I)
Layover in DOH 1h 25m

Qatar Airways(Q.C.S.C) Doha (DOH) to Seoul (ICN) - Mon, Oct 13
Qatar Airways(Q.C.S.C) 858 Dep: 1:15am Arr: 4:00pm 8h 45m Boeing 777 Business (I)

So I class 'appears' to be available according to ITA.

However, right now KVS shows:

[KVS Availability Tool 7.4.1/Diamond - Availability/FS/US]

LHR London Heathrow UK [EGLL]

A visit to the QR website to try to book the I class flights confirms no I class (or indeed D or J either) available on the day.

This has been ongoing for some number of days now.

(Sorry if this is a little OT for the BA board.)

Worth noting that you are still looking at a US point of sale. In the UK the "I" buckets on those flights are full but open to waitlisting. (IL not I0)

Most (all?) I fares on QR require bucket availability not just waitlisting space so it's probably an ITA bug.

You could report it to ITA Hacker but they rarely seem interested in the Matrix any more.

Availability shown via the KVS Tool is the correct one.

Yes, however your competitor distinguishes, and at the time of my previous post ex-US was I0 and ex-UK was IL.
